Like i said I had an idea for it.

The presentation would be a tab on the "main nav" with the word "Local Artist"

Then it would have a short introduction and a link on how to get your own gallery if you want one.

On that page it would list in alphabetical order the artist, a thumbnail, and a one sentence blurb.

When you click on it would be to a gallery page which has 

A) Information on the artist

B) Their contact information (email/fa/da/furpaws/etc)

C) up to 16 pieces of art.

Each art can have a description if they want.  The idea is to showcase and provide a way for people to contact the artist and see.

This would not limit to painted art, but also sculpture, wood, fursuits, metal working, music, literature, etc.  Art is a broad term here :)

That's what I am thinking any thoughts or comments (and of course the YES I want this is fine :) )

As Procyon there are multiple reasons why commission information is not going to be allowed. 

For this "section" you have to think of this as a source of information with links and other things that is more or less going to be updated once week at most :) – so anything "timely" wouldn't be recommend.
