I thought I should tell fellow furs about another anime convention. This anime convention is very new, but still so much fun. It will take place in the summer from June 29th to July 1st and will be a weekend extravaganza.
If you register now, it's only $25 and at the door it's $35. It will be held at the ThunderBird Ramada, which is right across the street from the Mall of America.
For those of you that play duel monsters or Yu-Gi-Oh on a recreational or competitive basis, I will be holding the Battle City Tournament there the entire weekend.
If you'd like more info, here's a link to their site. http://animinneapolis.com/

Nnnnnnggg I dunno if I'm going to this one or not. Part of me says "Yes Sike, you should go. An excuse to Fursuit" But on the other hand, Anthrocon is earlier that month. It really depends on if Im going to be going to Anthro or not. For now it's a maybe I guess, because I know last year they wanted me to staff and I couldn't and I would like to have another excuse to do a panel.
Edit: I'd highly consider going if someone had space in a room for me to go. Till then its on the fence, tilted towards no.

Wait what? The Thunderbird? I thought that was going to be bulldozed into a parking lot in 2012? O.o

Also I want to point out its the weekend BEFORE convergence this year; a very very bad move for them. The weekend after is not as bad, good in some cases as some people will still be on a con-high and want something to do.
But the week BEFORE as people are preparing for the biggest fan convention in Minnesota? *Insert gun into foot*

We have established that some people have conflicts due to CONvergence. We also have people who aren't interested in CONvergence. This may interest them, which is why we tell them about other events.

Last year went pretty successfully despite being the weekend after CONvergence, there's really not much difference in being before CONvergence. The 'after-con' high is something you would only know about after you go to CONvergence and then decide to come to AniMinneapolis, but over half of the attendees (1200 attendees) were pre-registered (700 pre-registered) the first year. ^_^ Hope to see some of you there.
