So This thread is for Anthrocon 2012. The theme is A Midsummer Nights Dream, based off the Shakespearian play. From June 14th to the 17th. Anthrocon is in Pittsburgh every year and is a very large con.
So! I wanted to see if anyone was planning on going, and just information to see if MNfurs was going to have a group going or not.
The second reason for this is to see if people need rooms/rides and if they can get help.
edit in: wont be able to go but I want people to still list/share rooms/rides if they can =)

I would not go out there just to go to AC, it's not worth it in my opinion. So normally this is an easy no. This year I'm taking an extended vacation that will have me going through that entire region of the US at the right time anyway. I probably still won't go, as there are more interesting things to see and do, but there's a slight chance I will stop by long enough to walk around and buy a shirt.
Actually, the only reason I would even consider it is because I might enjoy watching the reaction of my parents, whom I will be traveling with.

To cyber: Now that is a guerrilla way of gauging parentsreaction. Plan to be in Pittsburg "traveling" that weekend, see if you can find on news or excuse to go near there, and observe…sneaky.

It would be, except they already know about it. My attempt at teasing them about the convention and us being there backfired, and my mom at least seems to want to stop by. I would mostly be watching them react to things I haven't introduced them to yet. Like the dealers den…

My mom drives a school bus, so our extended vacations are always in the summer. And New England is one of the few regions of the US I haven't explored yet. AC just happens to be in the right place at the right time.

I came from that area, if you want some insight of some neat places up there just ask. Spent a great deal of time in New York and Vermont especially.
