Hey All, we are now level 24 (meaning there is a mailbox inside our airship) But that also means next level we "could" get the next airship.

The reason why I say could is because it costs astral diamonds, which are to find in game and usually can only be bought with DDO points, the StormGlory Bolt costs about 120 Astral Diamonds, and that no cheap deal (100 of them in the DDO Store are 2500 points) And sadly there will be no next airship until level 50, which will be awhile. Now there could be ideas as to figure this out, either chipping in a buck or two maybe to pool up to buy them for a quicker solution, or somehow pool up DDO point via favor and send that to one character buy it (im not sure if you could do that) or just wait until level 50. What are your guys thoughts on this?

First, you can't send points around. Sad but true. It's (probably) to prevent account abuse since you can rack up TP faster with favor for the first character on each server to reach X favor, rather than just getting 25 per hundred. Your first character gets a nice bonus a 5, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 favor, if I remember right.

The pros and cons of the ship would have to be weighed – what, exactly, does it do for us? I know it's more hookpoints (places to put things), but how many? What can we put there that would be worthwhile?

Our Ship Right Now can Hold 3 Crew Points, 4 Small Points, and 0 Large Points. The Bolt Holds 4 Crew Points, 6 Small Points, and 2 Large Points. What we would unlock between lvls 25-50 would be around 17 Small, 6 Large, and 3 more Crew Points (as rewards) I dont think we would need that many small, but it would be nice :/

Okay. That's a point. Especially that there are no Large hookpoints.

Now, I think most of those 17 Small rewards are pretty useless. Primarily that 11 of them are five elemental shrines and 6 stat shrines, which are of limited use (I think they don't stack? More useful if they do…)

Obviously if we want to do this, the most economical way would be to buy it all on sale. Diamonds have gone on sale before and likely will again. And point sales periodically happen (though only at the $50 tier). Combining the two would make the ship much cheaper.

Other than that, we also need to look at what the upgrade costs are to the next ship(s).

I believe they can stack, so long it isnt the same/better versions buff (Charisma +1 vs. Charisma +2)

Would you know if buying the Bolt will actually make it cheaper to upgrade to the next ship?

I think it does. Upgrading Stormglory ships is cheaper than buying them outright, I think.

What I meant was, I don't know if the Stat and resist shrines stack with stat and resist enchantments from spells/items. Guess I should check into that. They probably do, Turbine wants you to buy that stuff… Guess that could be pretty handy.

According to the Wiki, buying a Bolt outright costs 200 Diamonds, upgrading from the ship we have is 120. Looks like the cheapest way to get the Stormglory ships is to buy the ingame money one, then upgrade to the real money one; discounts like that are repeated at the medium and large ships (200 vs. 330 and 400 vs. 770 Diamonds).

Also, it looks like the resistance shrines DO NOT stack with items and spells. So they're pretty useless, in my opinion.
