I played trombone for a few years, starting in 4th grade and going all the way through undergrad. Once I started graduate classes however, I couldn't commit the time anymore. 13 years is a pretty good stretch though.

I preferred to play in the standard concert or orchestra bands, but I always managed to get roped into joining the jazz band. Jazz never came easily to me so I always had to work harder to learn those pieces.

I played the cello for about … ten years.  I had one until recently and can still play, but the instrument is sort of ashambles at the moment.

These days I'm more about music appreciation.  Listening to everything I can get my hands on and sharing the good stuff.  You know, that sort of thing.

I've been playing percussion since the 5th grade. I really prefer playing the Marimba (4 mallet) and Vibraphone over any other percussion instrument. The sounds are just amazing. The only other percussion instrument that I enjoyed playing was marching snare. Fun years in band. :]

I've been playing piano for about half those years, and I hope to continue playing it. (My current teacher is Russian, so awesome). Right now taking advanced music theory classes in college, and I might move on to composition.

I grew up in the theater as both a singer and an actress. I was also in our High School's audition choir, as well as a competitive 18-person ensemble that caroled around Edina for the Christmas season :3

Awesome, I play vibes, too!  I don't play as often as I should, though.

I was a percussionist since fifth grade.  I lettered in band and choir (and tennis) in high school and was voted Most Musical of my grade.  I was also in the Marching Band for four years as a drummer!  <3  Currently I'm attending community college for music.  I plan to be a composer for Nintendo!  <33

Wow!  I know what you're talking about!  Haha!  XD  God, those mallet instruments were heavy fuckers…  >.<  I loved playing snare drum and tympani the most.  :3

I sometimes play the ocarina. Taught myself how to play "Strawberry Fields" by sound.

I played the violin way back in 5th grade. I loved it, but never got the chance to play it again in school. Would love to learn again.

I also played the piano in middle school, but never had the drive to continue to learn.

My best talent in music, I have to say is, singing. I used to be super shy and quiet, until my parents bought a karaoke machine. When I sang my first song, I began to like it and wanted to sing some more. Eventually, my parents and I decided on going to all sorts of venues for karaoke.

I took my love for karaoke and singing to the next level and joined choir in the 5th grade. It was fun and I was recognized as a wonderful asset to the choir. When I left for middle school, I joined choir again and did the one thing that has now set the tone for what I want to do in life. In the 6th grade, I auditioned for the school's musical production. I was lucky to receive the part of a supporting villain and an understudy of one of the leads. And through acting, I got out of my anti-social shell.

As I continued my school life, I made it my job to audition for all plays and musicals in both middle school and high school. In my high school years, I won first place in 2 karaoke contests and formed a performance group that now attends and has performed at Anime Detour since 2009. We won 2nd place in Best Performance skit for one that was written, sung, and performed by myself and 2 other members.Along with that, I sing everyday that I live to show how much I am thankful for my gift and being able to become the social person that I truly am.

I am also an avid music listener as well, listening to anything except rap and screamo rock. But I've probably bored you all with my musical life story, so I'll stop here.

*waves* A bit late to the party, but I'm a vocalist.  Choir all through Junior and Senior High, including small, director selected groups.   I'm typically part of the choir for my mother's church cantatas (Easter and Christmas), and often have a solo, or at the very least am part of a small group.

I often wish I could play an instrument, but I've learned I really don't have the manual dexterity for it.

Small amusing note… I was part of a Carolers group for the church (No door to door stuff…just 4pm Christmas Eve service and Christmas Morning service).  Moreso, I had a small solo in one of the songs.  During practice, the director gave me a microphone to use for that one part within the group.  Soon as I started the solo, she stopped and said I needed to pull the mic back.

Second practice through I didn't bring the mic up, and simply belted it out as I am wont to do.  She said it sounded perfect, and was a little stunned when I told her I didn't use the microphone :3

Also amusing, on the same note, Kellic knows how well I can belt out my voice, as I helped him close down ConSuite at MFF XD
