Just curious if local furs would be interested in activities taking place in the northern suburbs? I live on the border of Anoka and Coon Rapids, and personally I find it too far out of my way to get down to Hopkins for the meets. I'm not a city girl and I hate highway driving.
I know the bowling events take place up here! Just a block away from my house, actually. But I'd love it if more stuff happened out this way in Anoka/Andover/Blaine/Coon Rapids. Like as a thought, Space Aliens in Blaine has been struggling with business and I'd hate to see such an awesome restaurant close. Maybe we could help fill their seats sometimes and give them some support? Doesn't need to be frequently, doesn't need to be a bi-weekly thing, but maybe every now and then. *shrugs*
Anyway, just some thoughts! Let me know what you guys think?

I wouldn't mind doing alternate meet locations, El Toro is kinda a test for us with that. IF that goes well then I would be open to trying something in the Northern metro in a month or two.
I've tried to do some alternate meets in the St Paul side for the same reason, just the alternate axis (east to west instead of North and south) It didn't ever go anywhere since it was an off meet weekend. In all honestly I would like to do atleast quartlerly or bi-monthly events in other locations offically sponsored by the group that was something other then perkins. We have a long ways to go for that to be the normal pattern, however if the momentum picks up I don't know what we'll expect to see.
As of right now, we have El Toro, then the picnic followed by the Halloween event for alternate things. Your not the only one who's mentioned Space Aliens, and if were looking at it as a special event rather then a regular bi-weekly replacement I think it could work. I'll put it on my agenda to look at a calander and at some point go look at the venue. Possibly late fall (November-early Decemberish), earlier if the Halloween thing busts.

Yeah, I'm from the mostly Northern area. Well, I suppose it's more Northeastern, now. I find the meets to be a bit of a hassle to get to, sometimes, but then I usually just wind up not going when that's the case. I'd be happy with events in other places, as well, every once in a while.

Well I can see about getting something together at Space Aliens, since it seems like enough folks are interested. I go there often enough (pretty sure the bartender recognizes me, lol) but I bet we'd be welcome. They have a section thats away from most of the restaurant, sort of a "party room" I guess, and honestly they're normally not busy, so I bet we could easily reserve it.
Space Aliens has great food and reasonable prices. They also have really cool happy hours and deals on appetizers and drinks fairly often. There is also an arcade, and if you order dessert, you get $5 worth of tokens for free! Hehe.
I will get together with Winail and Jacek and see if we can pick a good day. I'll post on the forums again when something is decided upon. Or Jacek will post. Or something. Someone. Somehow peoples will hear of it!

Sounds good. Once you pick a date and a time I'll post it as an event on the front page :). I'm hesitant of doing another "replaces the perkins meet" event right now because of how poorly El Toro did. However if you'd like to organize something yourselves that would be awesome. I will do what I can to promote it once I get a date and a time from you.

I think it would be cool to do it on even a Friday night too, so there would be no messing with the meets, or just on a non meet Saturday. We should make a thing of it with a movie too, I want to see "Legend of the Gardians: The Owl's of Ga'hoole" pretty bad, but I'm not certain if everyone would be up for planning an even in the next couple weeks or if this will be something down the road more :) Any input on dates would be awesome too! I'm free all day on weekends, and after 7pm on Fridays. So, whatever works out for everyone else!

I was just there today; just as a HUGE note~
If there are games going on (Vikes, etc) Appetizers are 1/2 off, and wings are TWENTY CENTS!!! (Trust me… made the mistake of getting 20 wings… I will be getting 12 from now on. xD)
Happy hour ALL day on Sundays, and Saturdays have $3 you call its.
I am all for S.A's now :>

Yeah like I said their happy hour deals ROCK. I wouldn't mind going on a Sunday, once again it avoids conflicting with the regular meet and so maybe more people could show? I know Sunday sucks for people who need to work and can't stay out late, tho.
And gosh I'd LOVE to make a movie date out of it, too! I want to see Guardians of Gahoole!
Maybe not this weekend, but the weekend after? October 3rd? (that's a Sunday) Let me know what you guys think- I'll probably hit some of you up on IM tonight.

Hello fuzzies. ^^
I'm visiting Minneapolis for the picnic and I'll be there Friday evening for around 8:30 pm. I'm down for doing stuff if anybody's interested. I'm good for art jams, board gaming, and other things. Has anybody tried out Apples to Apples yet? Seeing the new Legend of the Guardians movie would also be pretty bad-ass.
Alpha and Omega was full of cute and awesome too. I'd be willing to see that again.
I chose this place in the forum to post because, well, it's the only place where a significant discussion on doing random fun things has occurred. ^^

OMG I LOVE YOU ALL!!! I always worry about the Saturday meets because I work every Saturday and Sunday morning. I can get Mondays off no problem so I can hang out with out worries.
