The official parade video was shot by SPNN.org… THey claim they are airing it Tuesday – Friday at 9pm. However I have been unable to find the tv channel they are on.
I have asked the studio directly for a copy of the parade on DVD. If they get it to me, I'll see about making copies for anyone that wants one.
If anyone can find out if their cable provider is carrying the re-broadcasts some time, and you can record it, that would be great.
This morning I did a little trolling around to see if there were any personal videos or clips posted up on sites like youtube, but i Have yet to find any.

I plan on giving the SPNN director a call about mid-week and talk with him about the footage. I have his contact information and we chatted last year about this as well.

I spent some time editing the pictures Flip took with my camera. It's not a very good camera and the lighting was pretty poor with the sun behind us the whole time, but I did my best to get some of them cleaned up. I'll start posting them on my FA page soon.
And great job to everyone in the parade! It went very well and it looks like everyone had fun. This is one happy cyborg.

I thought the event was great as well! All afternoon long I saw nothing but smiles on the faces of the people who saw us. The suiters did an amazing job and were a huge hit. Aside from the Vulcans there are very few groups in the parade that actually interact with the crowd, and all of the suiters were working their tails off making sure that they covered both sides of the route and gave out as many hugs and high-fives as they possibly could. I have no doubt that next year they will be excited to have us there again, and hopefully there will be even more people who can make it out.
Big thanks to everyone who helped get this organized and supported us by making sure we had a staging area, water, and transportation. It was totally worth the 4 hour drive for Ferric and I, and next year I am going to do my best to bring some more furs with us from the Fargo area for this cool event.

I pretty much have all of the pictures up now. I might get one or two more up later, but most of the rest are either too blurry or duplicates of something I already posted. I'll keep an eye out on the channels were I know the carnival pictures tend to show up and post links to anything I find.

Hey Cyber,
do you mind if users re-post some pics on their own galleries? I'd like to put up the ones of Zao.
Thanks! :)

So wow. HUGE turn out at the event. My parents were in the crowd and said that everyone had wonderful things to say about us (They were towards the last 2 blocks and followed us down the rest of the way after that). The kids were squeeling and happy, and the parents were just thrilled. I've never seen so many excited and happy kids.
I know I was exhausted after it, and a bit dehydrated. Being in a dark fullsuit, it was hard work but very rewarding. I'm very sore today, but I am so happy and just had a blast. The suiters were awesome, the handlers were great, and the fans got a really good look at MNfurs.
I wanted to recommend/suggest next year possibly having a truck and flat bed trailer to pull. That way when suiters or handlers get tired, they can sit on the truck. We could have much more people go, and more than that, if we had people giving out candy or something, they could toss from there. Itd also be able to cool down the suiters, and hold water. I happen to know a family friend that owns a farming equipment/feed store has a flatbed theyd probably lend us next year.
All in all this was such a good event for our group, and really just a blast. I've checked out the pictures now. Gonna spread some on FB, and if its ok with Flip/Cyber Ill get them on FA too. Great times guys!

I have no problems with people reposting them. For credit purposes, Flip took the pictures. I edited them.

I have mentioned this to a couple people in passing previously. Normally a parade unit is required to have event insurance. We get out of that requirement because we are a walking unit. We could get that insurance after incorporating or we could partner with someone who already has insurance, both options cost more money. Until then we have to remain on foot.
We could start handing out candy if the group decides it fits in our budget.

About candy, one of the things on the waiver a promise not to throw out candy. It does use the word "throw", so directly handing out candy may be within the allowed rules. It would be funnier to have animal-themed candies, but not much comes to mind (and nothing in the "affordable" category).
I had fun, certainly. Honestly, the hardest part was making sure I kept up and then cleaning my suit afterwards. I swear it took me a solid hour to get the feet cleaned up and I still feel like I didn't get everything off that I wanted to.

Happenstance- My mom knows a company that sells little flavored 'dog bones'. Theyre kinda like smarties or something. Hard to explain, but I can probably find out how expensive they are and which website sells them.

The official video of the entire parade is up!

CHECK IT OUT!!! We start at 35:20 and go thru 37:20 or so.
I have a copy of the official DVD from SPNN, and I have permission to make copies of it for anyone who wants one. So if you want one, please let me know and I'll make you a copy. I'd ask a buck to cover the cost of the media. Amazingly enough, the quality of the studio-provided source DVD is rather low, I'm kinda disappointed… But it is what it is I suppose, coming from a small PBS station.

Some of those pictures are really awesome, and thank you for going thorough the gallery to find one of us in front of the Landmark center. Again, wonderful day at the parade.
