I have a bit of interest in going.
Here's the question: Does one have to pay registration fees if I were to say.. Just walk around in suit and not attend the panels and such?
I was told I wouldn't have to. I just want to confirm this.

Technically you can enter the hotel even in costume. However. If you do not have a badge for the con, you cannot enter any con areas (so no MN room parties, no dealers room, no artist alley, no panels, possibly no elevators/stairs, ). You'd pretty much be stuck in the lobby and outside of the hotel.

As Sike said, you really can't really get anywhere too fun. This includes room party; with one minor sidestep. We set up on room Thursday as we have some attendees (like Sike) who intend to be in suit as soon as the Con opens on Friday morning. With that, feel free to help with set up Thursday. This is technically before con, as they AD staff are setting up as well, and a least "take a look" at the hotel and what we are setting up and get idea what goes on during weekend. That way, if we intend to do this again or host a room party at Convergence (which uses same hotel) you have a better idea what it looks like and what to expect.

If people could clarify if they are going to be there just Thursday night or the entire weekend. If you are there for entire weekend, still looking for volunteers. If you are just there Thursday night to help with set up, be aware this also means you can stop by Sunday evening after the con closes for cast party where we can view all the pictures and tell all the stories from the weekend. I will announce times for cast party at set up party and during weekend. So when you give a shout out please tell me what you are doing and I can even start suggesting specific areas on what things we still need help with.
