You have less than a week-and-a-half before the September 24th cut off date for the $94 discounted rate for October Minnesota Furry Gathering happening on October 15th. If you miss this deadline you’ll be stuck paying $139 for a party or sleeping room. So you better hurry.

Because of this, every day we are going to post a little something to remind people about the event and keep the excitment going! Today’s topic is Gaming.

We are going to have a dedicated gaming room at the event; how cool is that? The Woodbury Room AKA the “Paul Bunyan Forest” which is conveniently located at the front of the hotel overlooking the main lobby will be where all the action is.

Video games will start with Kinect and Rockband for the afternoon, and will be moved to open gaming for most of the rest of the night. The other half of the room will have tables so you and your friends can join in a tabletop game such as Dominion or Apples to Apples.

In addition, after 7pm their will be a Poker Tournament in the Parlor Room (St Croix Forest) followed by Are you a Werewolf?- a Live action Role Playing Party Game where you try to guess who’s the werewolf before they munch on all your townspeople.

Also, I will be finalizing the event schedule this weekend and posting the final programming schedule early next week. If you want to run an event at Snowpocalypse please get the following information: Panel name, Short description of your panel (paragraph or so), how long you need, and if you prefer an afternoon or evening timeslot to an event organizer by using the contact forum. The cutoff for programming at Snowpocalypse is also Feb 26th.

Because of hotel space MNFurs can run multiple events at once. But we don’t have enough people to run as many as we want. If you are interested and have an event you want to run or just want to help run an event please use the contact form so we can get back to you.

We Need Your HELP – Artists
Lets face it – Snowpocalypse needs art. We need art for flyers, we need art for signs, event schedule hand outs, we need art for con badges, and even for this website. If you are interested in donating your time and talents in creating something that will be seen by many people going to the event please contact us through the contact form and MNFurs will get back to you on how you can help.

We Need Your HELP – Event Ideas
We still have space for more events on the schedule. If you have an idea or an event please use the contact form or the forums to talk about the next big idea.

Also If you have any general comments about the schedule please use the Snowpocalypse event forums to provide general feedback.

And now the deadline – get your feedback and suggestions to use by Saturday the 26th so we can start finalizing the schedule for the Snowpocalypse. As soon as it’s finalized we will get it up on the website.

Again your feedback and support is welcome, and it will make this the best event yet.

If you are thinking about hosting a room party we recommend you get one of the Executive King rooms with the code. The Executive King rooms are larger then standard hotel rooms and include a couch as well as a large area for setting up tables or chairs. Just because it only has one bed doesn’t mean you can’t crash more then one person here; there is plenty of space for air-matresses and the couch provides sleeping space for a guest! In addition, by booking one of the Executive king rooms you will be the closest to the open Den area which will help you promote your party into the late hours.

You know Minnesota, you know the winter, we all fear it and it’s coming back to Minnesota! Snowpocalypse is officially coming March 12, 2011! This hotel event located in Saint Paul, Minnesota is put on by MNFurs for enjoyment of everyone in the furry fandom.

This event will include fursuiting, night dances, socializing, and many other furry related events. Cost for the main event areas is FREE while “The Den” and an offical MNFurs Snowpocalypse badge is available pre-registration price of $5 or $10 at the door. MNFurs will be having a Halloween event in a hotel in the twin cities.

While not all the details are finalized (hotel location and date), what we can tell you this: the event will cost $5.00 a person and is planned to be a an all day and all night event that is friendly to fursuiters, artists, writers, gamers and heck everyone! This will be a lot of fun!

So keep track of the Halloween Event Page and talk about what you want happening at this event in the MNFurs Forums because this will be a blast and an event no one will soon forget.
