Valley Fair is Minnesota’s great amusement park but they kick it up in autumn when they convert part of the park for the ValleySCARE event. New events and scares are included in the admission with all the big rides are still running but the kiddy town and Waterpark are closed, no big loss. So join MNFurs on September 24th for the first Saturday of ValleySCARE.

We are rallying at loverofbalto apartment parking lot prior to leaving so we can cover up to 2 cars with the season pass so anyone else with a large vehicle would be greatly appreciated. The group intend to leave at 5:45PM and stay till close at Midnight. If you wish to use you own vehicle to arrive or leave at different times just remember the 10$ parking fee on top of the non-discounted $31.99 park entrance fee for arriving after 6PM. If you decide to spend the whole day the park opens at Noon and will cost you, without discounts, $42 plus the price of parking.

If you plan to meet up with the group around 6PM, meet within the front gate between the two shops.

Remember – For safty reasons the park asks us to leave the fursuits and tails at home.

The second meet in August, Sat August 20th we will be trying something new. We are going to be holding the meet at Emma Krumbees in Inver Grove Heights.

As with Angenos, this is a one shot event. We are trying a few new locations and seeing how well they work out for us; while Perkins is and likely will be our staple event for some time to come we’re offering this meet as an alternate venue to try something new.

The room we have reserved is bigger then the one we have at Perkins, and can accommodate a meet of our full crew comfortably with modular table arrangements. It is private from the rest of the restaurant and has direct access to an outdoor seating area.

As we get closer to the date we will be providing a menu with what will be available to our group and the specific details including maps.

So keep the date open and hope to see you guys there!

As a tradation for MNFurs Spring Picnic the food at this years picnic is being handled as a pot-luck. As in years past it’s recommened that you bring your own main item (meat or vegatable), a non-alcholic drink, and something to share.

Because of this, every day we are going to post a little something to remind people about the event and keep the excitment going! Today’s topic is Gaming.

We are going to have a dedicated gaming room at the event; how cool is that? The Woodbury Room AKA the “Paul Bunyan Forest” which is conveniently located at the front of the hotel overlooking the main lobby will be where all the action is.

Video games will start with Kinect and Rockband for the afternoon, and will be moved to open gaming for most of the rest of the night. The other half of the room will have tables so you and your friends can join in a tabletop game such as Dominion or Apples to Apples.

In addition, after 7pm their will be a Poker Tournament in the Parlor Room (St Croix Forest) followed by Are you a Werewolf?- a Live action Role Playing Party Game where you try to guess who’s the werewolf before they munch on all your townspeople.

Gaming at Snowpocalypse 2011, guaranteed to be a blast!

Also, I will be finalizing the event schedule this weekend and posting the final programming schedule early next week. If you want to run an event at Snowpocalypse please get the following information: Panel name, Short description of your panel (paragraph or so), how long you need, and if you prefer an afternoon or evening timeslot to an event organizer by using the contact forum. The cutoff for programming at Snowpocalypse is also Feb 26th.

As we get photos from the event they will be posted in the photo gallery area of the site. Any videos will be posted to our MNFurs You Tube page.
