<u>MNFurs Community Forum Meet Notes: May 7, 2016</u>

 

Attendees: Alkora, Augie, Arren, Euro, Aerak, Kurst, Zeezy, Ridayah

 

We had an election.

The people who were voted in were Charles Piehl and Jac

 

Aerak is still the president

Jac is the vice president

Kurst is the treasurer but that may change because he may be taking over the convention.

Ridayah is the secretary

Charles is the board member at large and in charge of the volunteering system.

 

The election didn’t go smoothly.  There were lots of problems with documenting the number of hours that people had.  The election committee didn’t have the numbers in front of them and thus it didn’t allow people to vote.  A committee has been set up to investigate what went on so it doesn’t happen again.  From now on, the event runners are in charge of tracking and recording the number of hours.

 

We have a new logo that we are working on.  The current logo’s angle is causing problems.  Diagonal design makes current design look floaty.

Currently we are working with a designer- Jade Fox, but it’s still a work in progress.  Some designs were shown, there are others but are sketched out only.

 

Should the state of MN be just part of the logo but not the entire logo?

The problem with logos that have a lot of details is that if you shrink it, the details become unrecognizable.

And if you make it multicolored, then costs go up.

 

Fundraising, money management.

Want to be able to do some merchandising and have a logo to put on the merchandise.

Fund reserves are low compared to the past.

There will be shirts for sale at the picnic.

Most of the fundraising has been at the picnic.

There will be a soft paper badge this year-

Pay $15 in a bundle and you get both the soft and hard badge.

Bumper stickers have been offered as a suggestion for merchandising.  Any ideas, send it to [email protected]

 

Notes from Drake:

Next weekend is the spring picnic.

The theme is Japan

It will be held at Thompson Park, West St Paul.  Check the MNFurs website for more details.

We need more people for volunteers for teardown.

Setup is at 10 AM.

Contact Augie or Drake for helping out.

 

There will be a Machine Shed Meet on May 21^st.

 

Rebelpup is organizing a camping trip, on May 22^nd.  PM or contact her for more info on that.

 

There will be a St Paul Saints Game on May 28^th that will be fursuit friendly.

 

Next month, there will be a Furry Migration video shoot outdoors.  We need fursuiters for this event.

Ringer will be posting more info on the forums.

 

Next community meeting will be on June 18 at Caribou.
