Covered Bridge Fur Romp
Mar 23 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join us at the Covered Bridge Park Castle Playground in Zumbrota, and spend an afternoon hanging out, exploring, and vibing with your fellow furs! The playground features swings, an obstacle course, and a really cool moving platform! Please keep in mind that a lot of the playground’s paths can be pretty tight, so be sure to be cautious with your suits!

The weather may be chilly, so please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather!

Cost: Free!
RSVP?: Yes, so others can see who’s all coming!
Fursuit Friendly?: Yes, please feel free to bring your suits! Be mindful that they may get dirty on the playground, and you may have to pay extra attention to be sure that they are not damaged.

March Art Jam @ Nokomis Meeting Room
Mar 30 @ 1:30 pm – 3:45 pm

All artists, from beginners to hobbyists to professionals, are invited to join Talon for an Art Jam! Bring your supplies, whether those be traditional, like markers, mini-figs, and pencils, or digital, like tablets, photo editors, and laptops, to Nokomis Library and hang out with fellow furs for an afternoon of doing art!

A general prompt will be given to the group (such as “draw a dragon hoarding something you wouldn’t expect”), and everyone will be given an hour and a half to work on it! This is in the hopes of giving folks something creative to think about and put their minds to. Afterwards, everyone who wishes can show off their art to the group! Those who would like to come do art with company, but would prefer not to follow the prompt are also welcome!

Because we are reserving a room at Nokomis Library, there is a limit of 36 people. Due to this, you are strongly encouraged to RSVP. If too many people attend, those who RSVP’d will be given priority, and those who did not will be asked to leave so we stay within regulations for the library. Also, be aware of our space. If your art may be messy (such as the use of paints), ensure that you have the means to keep your area tidy. Please do not arrive early – there is a group reserving the room before us!

You are encouraged to bring your own supplies, however some will be provided for those who do not have their own! Those who bring their own supplies are not obligated to share them (especially as they may be expensive), so please be understanding.

If furs enjoy the event, the hope is to have it be reoccurring!

RSVP?: Yes, so we can see who is all coming! Because the event has a limited capacity, it is very important for you to RSVP!
Fursuit Friendly?: No, please leave your suits at home.
Cost: Free to attend!

April Stillwater Romp
Apr 13 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Join your fellow furs for a Spring romp in historic downtown Stillwater! We will walk along the shoreline of the Scenic St. Croix River and across it on the historic Stillwater Lift Bridge (pending neither is closed due to high water).

If the riverside is a bust, the romp will continue to downtown Stillwater instead which still offers plenty of neat photo ops!

Parking in Downtown Stillwater is free during the off season, but space is limited. This includes both on-street parking and lots that are pay-to-park during the summer months. Plan on a walk from where you park to where the meeting place is.

The meeting and staging area will be as close to the gazebo in Lowell Park as possible; if the gazebo is barricaded off due to high water we will meet in the open field nearby on the legal side of the barricades

RSVP?: Yes, so we can see who’s all coming!
Fursuit Friendly?: Yes, feel free to show off those suits! Those without suits are also strongly encouraged to come.
Cost: Potential for having to pay to park.

Spring Bear Essentials Camp (18+) @ Afton State Park - Basic-A - GRP1
May 3 @ 4:00 pm – May 5 @ 12:00 pm

Come camping out for a couple of nights on the St. Croix River, and get away from all the hustle and bustle of the cities! You may just be able to see the stars, and also howl at the moon if the urge strikes you. Explore the multiple hiking trails around the park such as the North River Trail, Deer Valley Loop, and the Trout Brook Loop – each trail is a different length and difficulty, so be prepared to bring some good hiking shoes! You can also spot some beautiful limestone buffs and deep forested ravines along the trails. This park is also home to nearly 200 different species of birds, with the chance to spot rare ones for any aspiring bird watchers. If you like to swim, they also have a swimming beach available to use  a 1/2 a mile walk from the parking area.

Because this event is the Bear Essentials, you’re responsible for bringing your own tent, chair, and food! If you haven’t got a tent, ask to borrow someone else’s, or share a tent with another fur! Because this is a state park, camping in your car is NOT allowed.
