* * * * * * * * * *
I’ve known you for as long as I can comprehend
A strong connection built even though it’s distant
Picked each other up when we didn’t understand
It’s shocking what can change in an instant
Words can only do so much as actions can kill
I watch from the side lines, seeing every play
I can’t do anything about it as I feel a chill
Should I drop my life or just sit and stay?
There’s lack of protection, but still I support
I guess I can’t control it and I can’t restrain
I just remain idle and watch as it really hurts
Sometimes I want to lash out, but I refrain
I witness all, but I am completely powerless
Weak to weakest even though I try to help
Ever wonder when something becomes useless?
I feel drained now as I listen to you yelp…
I become numb and now becoming emotionless
You tear yourself apart and say it’s harmless
Life becomes a blur as you fall below the surface
Hopeless as I see this…I’m nervous…I feel helpless
