Ringer, per our conversation at the meet, I would not mind being one to help carry and hold up one side of the MNFurs banner during the parade…Obviously we need someone on the other side.

I will not be in suit so I can be a go-to person for whatever else you think you may need assistance with.

That sounds good. With that in mind we’ll need at least one other person to carry the banner.

Do we have any definitive thoughts on food? I like the German restaurant idea so if we agree on that we should try to make a reservation.

Hey, I won’t be able to be in the parade, but I plan to watch it with at least one other person. Has there been any talk of others meeting up who are just going to watch the parade?

    NEW INFO !!!        READ !!!

I GOT THE PERMIT TO USE THE BOARD OF ED BUILDING !  WE NOW HAVE A PRIVATE, INDOOR CHANGING AREA !

See new map and details here:  http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12556049/

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    1.  There is no guarantee about parking spaces.  I have asked for 30 spaces, but they have not confirmed this will certainly be available.  I have also heard that the parking lots around the school are open and first-come-first-served on the weekend.  SO…. I would suggest arriving early just in case.  We will be able to enter the building at 12 noon…  but keep in mind there are many other groups and people who will be competing for parking spaces… I really don’t know what to tell you to expect.

    2.  I DO NOT KNOW WHICH DOOR WILL BE THE ENTRANCE AT THIS TIME.  I know the building is big and there are many entrances to it.  This is last-minute, I’m workin’ my butt off to get things flying smooth for all the suiters…  So… when you arrive, please just look around, or see if you can find me, or someone else.  We’ll try to make it obvious, but it’s going to be coming in blind for a little bit until we get the details sorted out on site.

    3.  Please Please Please be courteous, CLEAN, and quiet!  So far, we have gotten this space for free, thanks to the good graces of the Public School District and a lot of diplomatic negotiation from me.  If we ever want to have this ability again in the future, we need to make sure we make a fantastic impression on them!  If you bring stuff in, please bring EVERYTHING out.  Even your trash!

    4.  Feel free to ping me for additional info or whatever.  You can comment on the FA link above, or here.

    Dinner Plans!

We have a space reserved at Famous Dave’s at MOA at 6:30pm. We hope you’ll join us regardless of whether you’re participating or spectating!

    Transportation Updates!

With Tek’s post in mind, please note that you will need to find parking in the vicinity of the staging area at Colborne and Jefferson. We also may need to make several trips from Rice Park (where the parade ends) back to the initial staging area. Anyone willing to help with rides for this will have our gratitude!

Auron: I won’t be marching in the parade either; I’ll be on the sidelines taking photos and possibly video. I plan to be mobile though and follow the parade route with the group: stopping at points to get photos and trying to keep ahead. If you do want to meet up I’ll find out where I will be starting to watch from and let you know 🙂

LoneWolf and I will be shuttling for sure.  I can take 6 people at a time in my car, and he will have a large pickup truck.  We should be able to do it in 2 or 2 1/2 runs I think.  One more shuttle volunteer would be great tho.

If you have a large vehicle and you can shuttle folks, please try to arrive early so you can get a spot on the top of the parking deck.  The deck has an 8′ entry point I think, and can handle 5,000 pounds PER AXLE, so there should be no problems with full size vans fitting in.

I spoke to the St Paul police, they said that riding in the back of a pickup truck “SHOULD BE OK” as long as the driver is “driving responsibly” and the people in the back are “in control”.  That means, if everyone is sitting down and not bouncing around or standing up, and the driver is on surface streets, paying attention to the traffic, and being careful not to slam on the brakes or make sharp turns and such… then there should not be a problem with it.  I would surmise also that on this particular day with all the many groups bumbling around, the police will be fairly lax about this kind of activity, knowing that many people will be doing exactly what we are doing, shuttling people back to the staging area.  So… we should be fine with this.

Tek: If I can get ahold of my parents VUE I would be able to shuttle 4 people plus have heated secured storage space for heads or 2-3 crates.

I’ll be more then happy to shuttle people from the end of the parade route and to provided I am not the one stuck waiting at the school to do the first run (I intend to follow the group and take photos/video from the sidelines)

So as long as I get a ride from the school lot to the staging area on the last shuttle and picked up on the first shuttle outbound so I can retreive my vehichle I’d be able to help.
