So like the title says, anyone here want to go climb some rocks? Vertical Endeavors (http://verticalendeavors.com) is an indoor rock climbing facility with 2 locations in the Twin City’s area. I want to go climbing and am seeing if anyone else would like to join me. This would not be a MNFurs event, just something I want to do and figured I’d extend an invite to all here.
Date/time/location/price:
Sunday April 13th from 10am until about 2 or 3pm (or whenever your arms fall off)
I’m thinking about going to the Minneapolis facility(2540 Nicollet Ave. S. Minneapolis, MN 55404) they have more auto-belay systems and taller walls than the St. Paul facility.
And now the big question, How much?
Prices (directly from the website)
“Daily Passes
Weekend $17
Rentals
Rental Package $12
Single Rental Items
Climbing Shoes $5
Harness $5
Belay Device $5
Chalk Bag $5
Helmet $1
NOTE: All prices are subject to sales tax”
This thread is just to see who would be interested and possibly get a head count. If we get enough people I think I can get “private” belay lesson for the group or something (It’s been a while since I’ve been there) But expect nothing!
Current attendees: Ringer, Birk, Bra|nS|ug, Lego, Ty Ty, Kiguel and myself
Tentative: Ski# and Drake
I’ll update this post with additional information as it becomes available.

Well I’m interested, it’s a bit far out to know if I’m going it thoughYes I do want to go rock climbing. Rac climbing?I would go. I love rock climbing.
I mean, I’m terrible at it. But the one wall I can get up before being worn out completely is pretty fun.
The Minneapolis VE facility is pretty nice, I go there from time to time.Have never done rock climbing before so this should be interesting. You have my interest so cool.

Ya, I would like in on this, last time I was up a wall was jr high. Let me see if it interfears with the petco event. This won’t be until April, so it shouldn’t interfere with any events.I used

I will go! I have a membership there! An update! There is nothing to update… I’ve tried to contact VE Minneapolis a couple times, but have gotten no response as to a group rate/thing/whatever… So I’m going to go with- We all just show up!
Date and times are still the same as far as I am aware.
From what I can tell I have Ringer, Bra|nS|ug, Lego, and Ty Ty as “going” and Ski#and Drake as “interested.”
Let me know if any of this has changed or if anyone else would like to join us so I can get a general idea on who to expect!

Birk will almost definitely be there too. Looking forward to it!I may have a way to get a certain amount of people (up to 10) in for $8 each. That wont cover rental stuff but would be a great discount from the normal weekend rate. I have a membership at VE and may be buying someones punch card off them. if that is the case I can find out how many punches are left then collect the $8 from the first 8 or so people interested. That would be awesome! I emailed and called twice and never heard anything as far as groups were concerned so anything would be appreciated. I am still ok with paying full price, as to not put you out or anything. Also I’ll update the main post with the projected turnout.

Oh – I know you have rental prices up top, but it should be noted that the only things you need to have are a harness and shoes. The others are optional. Chalk is a good idea.Just remember Norm the montage…. I am not going down easy this time. :-pOh – I know you have rental prices up top, but it should be noted that the only things you need to have are a harness and shoes. The others are optional. Shoe rental is also optional. All of the time’s I’ve been there I’ve just used my skate shoes, lol.

I am beginning to get a little worried now… do I need my own montage? 🙂
