Welcome to MNFurs

Welcome to the current home of MNFurs. Some of you who are moving over from the Yahoogroup may be wondering what the point of this site is. Why did we build it? We had the yahoo group right. The simple answer is the capabilities of the Yahoogroup were becoming an annoyance. Yes it had the infrastructure and some of the tools in place. However having a dedicated website that we can call our own and configure to suit our needs is preferable.

MNFurs.org hopefully over the coming months will become much more then a frontpage. I would really like to turn this into a gateway to the furry fandom. With aticles, news, event announcements, rideshare and hotelshare for conventions, chat, home grown art galleries, even more chat, etc.

Right now the site is in its infancy and we ask that people please bear with us as we try and nurture it along. You may occasionally see it go down as we do some tweaking. Hopefully that will be temporary. I think this is going to be a good home for the group. So why are you still reading this? See that link on the right hand side called new user? Sign Up! Go! PS- I want to post a special thanks to Kurst for putting this site together. He took some of my vague ideas and created something concrete out of them. The dude rocks.

A New Website is coming.
News It's long been promised that a new website is on the way for the MNFurs group. That rumor is true and is in Kellic's capable paws. So while the current website is currently tearing itself apart and belching up a mess of code everyone, take heart, soon we will have a completely new website - one that works! In the mean time, please feel free to use the forums. It's got info such as where and when our biweekly meets are held, as well as other special events.

Blood & Chocolate Friday
Anyone game for the werewolf movie Blood & Chocolate this Friday? If so log in, go to the forums, and check the specifics. Its either going to be good or horribly, horribly bad. If its bad what say we go and have dinner at Applebees afterwards and mourn the death of another movie that had great potiential and was killed by Hollywood. Alternatively, if it’s good, let’s celebrate at Applebees afterwards.

Another Year, Another Picnic
News Well this year's picnic has come and gone. I personally think its getting better and better as we continue to do this. This year was our third annual picnic and I think I can say without too much arrogance that we will be doing this again next September.

One thing that has come to my attention is a growing interest in a late Spring picnic. As such MNfurs is going to put up a new poll to replace "What's for dinner." :xD

Said poll will be on the topic of adding a Spring picnic to the mix. If this goes well we'll put up a follow-up poll on the location. If people would like to have it at the current location or somewhere new to put a little variety into the mix.
So if you want to have a say on the subject sign in and vote.

Announcing the new Minnesota furgroup name: MNFurs!
News It’s been a few weeks since we sort of, kinda, in a round about way decided to rename the group MNFurs. More then anything no one really screamed that they hated it so I guess its official. We just never got around to making any type of formal announcement on the Yahoogroup. Well no time like the present I guess.
So there you have it. SNCFurs is now MNFurs. We removed 2 letters and added one. How hard was that? :x)
