So when it says to pack bedding, does it mean to do so for both tents and the barn or just tents?

    What are the activities provided?

    Hi folks,

Kellic here.  I’m running this event.

For activities it will really be dependent on the weather. If it rains we will be doing most things indoors.  With watching movies (Furry and alien movies.) and board games along with snack and drinks.
If it is nice out we will have a fire outside in the fire pit along with taking a walk along the numerous trails.

Pertaining to sleeping arrangements.  The inside of the barn will have half dedicated to sleeping.  This will only accommodate 8-10 people at most.  When I say provide bedding. The barn floor is wood slats.  Unless you like sleeping on wood.  I would recommend bringing something to sleep on.  Sadly this isn’t a hotel. 🙂 So it really is a first come first serve arrangements.  Outside if you bring a tent there is plenty of space for 60 people.  The nice thing about this location is that it is close enough to the cities that you can commute.

However I do need to being up one thing.  You provide your own transportation to and from the site.  Do not assume if you get a ride there that someone is going to assist in you getting home.  If you can’t find a ride, you are walking.

Also for anyone who attended last year who was under 18.  The reason we changed it to 18+ was for liability reasons.  I didn’t want to be responsible for minors this year.

If anyone has any movie requests put them here.  There is a good chance I own whatever you list. 🙂

Hi floofs, is anyone coming from (North) Minneapolis willing to give me a ride? I am happy to pay for gas and snacks, and am an undemanding passenger xD

    Thank you!

Also, @Kellic please: you mentioned sleep space for 8-10 people. I’m 9th on the RSVP list but would like some sleep space. How will this be allocated please? I will bring a tent if we (understandably) cannot guarantee snooze space indoors! Thank ‘ee

Let me get back to you.

    @leems

OK so in hindsight this is going to end up being a logistical mess for this year.  It’s too far into the event to change this to first come first served.  So bear with me.  Next year will be smoother.  I’m shooting for 2 rows of aprox 5′ x 6′ space for people to sleep in.    That is about 8 people BUT I think we can fit 2 more people in on the sides.
I’m planning on putting down blue tape to easily mark things off.

@kellic Thanks, and no criticism intended. I appreciate your organizing, as always!

You can assume I won’t be needing the barn; I will sort out a tent, or come next time, better prepared. 🙂

What I would love to do in the future is rent a 30 x 20 canvas tent with a wood burning stove for people to sleep in.  But that would then require me charging for the event, and I’m trying to keep this kinda simple unless we get a large demand for this going forward.

Limited.  If you are tenting outside, no.  Inside the barn, yes.

Get the Bionicle movie trilogy. We gotta watch a certified classic.

Hey guys.  So full transparency.  I was doing some deck demolition in my back yard. A series of unfortunate events occurred to result in me rolling my ankle.  It is currently very swollen, and am on crutches.   I’ve talked with Rico, Hikyuuri, and Wulfsige who have graciously offered to step up and help.  Thanks guys.  The good news is I wanted to make this a low key weekend.  Outside board gaming, movies, food, more food, campfires, and pumpkin carving, and some nice trails it wasn’t intended to be a massive event.  More a relaxacon.  So setup wasn’t going to be overly…..intensive.  Outside trying to make things spooky.  But I was planning on doing most of the heavy lifting.  So I’m going to metaphorically, and maybe literally lean on these guys to help out.
But if things aren’t as theme-y as intended, that is the reason.
