Elections: 2024-2025 Timeline

Wow is it really coming up to that time again? This post is outlining the tentative dates for the 2024-2025 Elections. More details will be announced as we get closer to elections.

We are going to have two seats available for election this cycle. A term lasts 2 years.

Timeline of Dates

✅ 10/26/2024 Nominations Open Nominations open for people to be considered for the Board of Directors
✅ 11/26/2024 (12:00am) Nominations Close Nominations close for new candidates
✅ 12/6/2024 Candidate Bios Due Candidate Bios are due for the election cycle. These are posted online.
✅ 12/8/2024 Candidate Q&A An in-person Q&A session. Both open to the public and recorded. Offline sessions will be captured for those that missed this event.
✅ 12/15/2024 Volunteer Hours Cutoff The deadline for volunteers to submit their hours. 20 or more hours required for voting rights.
12/16/2024 12/17/2024 Voting Opens Voting opens via https://vote.mnfurs.org/
1/5/2025 1/7/2024 @ 11:59pm CST Voting Closes Voting closes for counting
✅ 1/9/2025 Results Announced Results are announced within 48 hours of voting closing
2/7/2025 – 2/9/2025 Board Retreat An off-site retreat, focusing on the org. Three day event though in most cases only the first two days are needed.

FAQ

  • What does a board member do?
    Minnesota Furs is a 501c3 nonprofit and needs a board of directors to be operational. Duties include observing finances, liaison to various departments, oversight of the convention and other charters (MWF, etc). Attend a board meeting to see what its all about! You can also learn more about our board here on the website.
  • How do I vote?
    Members (volunteers) can vote with 20 or more of volunteer time during the 2024 calendar cycle. Please ensure your hours are reported by emailing volunteers@mnfurs.org.
 
 

The RSVP Plus One is for one-time guests or guardians of the MNFurs member going to the event.

If the Plus One is for an MNFurs member, they need to RSVP themselves.
