It that time again! This post is outlining the dates for the 2025-2026 Elections and high level FAQ. This year there will be three (3) seats on the board. More details will be announced as we get closer to elections.
Timeline of Dates

| 10/25/2025 | Nominations Open | Nominations open for people to be considered for the Board of Directors |
| 11/25/2025 (12:00am) | Nominations Close | Nominations close for new candidates |
| 12/12/2025 | Candidate Bios Due | Candidate Bios are due for the election cycle. These are posted online. |
| 12/14/2025 | Candidate Q&A | An in-person Q&A session. Both open to the public and recorded. Offline sessions will be captured for those that missed this event. |
| 12/17/2025 | Volunteer Hours Cutoff | The deadline for volunteers to submit their hours. 20 or more hours required for voting rights. |
| 12/19/2025 | Voting Opens | Voting opens on volunteer portal |
| 1/9/2026 @ 11:59pm CST | Voting Closes | Voting closes for counting |
| 1/11/2026 | Results Announced | Results are announced within 48 hours of voting closing |
| 2/6/2026 – 2/8/2026 | Board Retreat | An off-site retreat, focusing on the org. Three day event though in most cases only the first two days are needed. |
FAQ
- What does a board member do?
Minnesota Furs is a 501c3 nonprofit and needs a board of directors to be operational. Duties include observing finances, liaison to various departments, oversight of the convention and other charters (MWF, etc). Attend a board meeting to see what its all about! You can also learn more about our board here on the website. - How do I nominate someone for board?
By emailing [email protected]. Please include their furry name, and contact email for us to notify them and gain their acceptance of nomination. - Can I nominate myself?
Yes, Self nominations can be done by the elections email above or you can nominate yourself on the volunteer portal when it opens. - How do I vote?
Members (volunteers) can vote with 20 or more of volunteer time during the 2025 calendar cycle. Please ensure your hours are reported via https://volunteer.mnfurs.org/. If you dont know your login or need assistance, please contact your staff admin for the society (MNFurs), or chartered event (Furry Migration, etc).
