Hello everyone!
I would like to formally introduce myself. For those who may not know me, my name is Talon. I am the lead moderator for our Discord, and have been on the moderation team and in charge of communications for about two years now. I was also voted onto the Board of Directors in 2024, and have spent the past year as the vice president.
Starting today, at the start of our newest term, I am now the president of MNFurs. Joining me on the Board for this term are: Rocket (vice president), Snap (treasurer), JJ (secretary), Rico (conchair), and Vulan (director).
We have several goals for this fiscal year that I wanted to share with you all! A non-exhaustive list includes:
- Working towards the creation of a Youth Program to better offer events and spaces for our younger members
- Increased emphasis on fundraising for the organization, to ensure we are able to keep up with demand and rising costs that come along with a larger member base. Part of this includes coming up with fun and new incentives for those who donate – keep an eye out!
- New merch ideas for those furs who’re looking for a bit more variety
- A change to the way Oval Meets are handled in the warmer months, and having more structured options for the Ovals in the cooler months. This is being led based on community feedback.
- Continuing to offer Picnics, Holiday Parties, and year-round events for all of our members to enjoy to continue connecting with other furs and learning about the community.
- Increased relations with other local nonprofits who share our vision and ideals.
We are all hard at work maintaining the organization and trying to make it better for you all every day. As the incoming president, I am eager to continue moving MNFurs forward to be the best it can be, in cooperation with my fellow staff and also you, the community. I attend in-person events often, so if you ever see me around, please feel free to come and chat, whether it’s about org business or not.
