A new election has come up on the horizon. Minnesota Furs is beginning its annual election for the board of directors! Three of the five board member seats are up for re-election, and with one director not re-running, there’s a guarantee of new faces on the board.
So what does this mean for you? It means two things: it means you as a volunteer with enough hours can help elect the candidates you want to the board, or if you also desire, you can even run for the board yourself. To do so for either aspect requires 20 confirmed hours of volunteering. If you aren’t sure if you have them, you can check the website under your account, or contact the Volunteers Department via email or at an event. If you don’t have them, then keep an eye out for upcoming events to volunteer at and earn those hours!
What is to come? Right now there will be two debates that we intend to have recorded and posted online that will be open to all MNFurs members to attend. All candidates will have had to notify their intent to run by the end of January. The elections will take place throughout the month of March, with the final tally at the last furmeet in March.
