Elections are coming up fast, and you have five candidates to choose from! Outlined below will be how voting works and other related information.
This year two board seats are up for election. Neither incumbent has chosen to run again, which leaves the field wide open for the five community members whom have accepted nominations to run for the MNFurs board. These five are, in alphabetical order:
- Charles
- Flip
- Jac
- Krios (Devon)
- Unico
Only two will wind up on the board this year – which is up to you to help with. To vote, you MUST have 20 hours of volunteer time submitted for and approved. You may submit hours at any time before the final day of elections, so that they may be confirmed! You MUST have these hours submitted in order to be eligible to vote.
There will be a candidate debate at the Perkins on March 26th, you will want to be there early if it’s important to you to hear the candidates!
There are two election periods this year – the first is our early elections, which are this Saturday, March 12th, at the Machine Shed meet. Voting hours will be between 5pm-8pm. You may come and cast your ballot there. The final election (and when votes are decided as to whom is on the board!) will be at the Perkins furmeet on March 26th. Voting hours will again be from 5pm-8pm, with the final tally after that and announcements. If you can’t make these meets, you may email [email protected] to request an absentee ballot.
If there are any questions, please go ahead and ask! The elections staff are standing by.
