Hello all! This is just a quick reminder that nominations close 11:59pm CST on October 22nd for the Board Of Directors elections. After this, we will be moving forward with announcing the candidates with informational bios. Later in November, we will be having a public session Q+A to ask the candidates any questions you may have for the role. Voting opens November 16th and closes December 1st.
To address some questions, here are some FAQ we’ve heard recently regarding this whole process.
Q: How is it decided what I would do as a board member.
A: In addition to your fiduciary responsibility as a board member, we also run through a collection of duties to assign to different individuals (otherwise known as the “Card game”). This would be established shortly around the time your term starts, as part of our board retreat.
Q: How do I vote for a candidate?
A: Voting opens November 16th, and you will voting instructions shortly before that time. Any members with 20 or more volunteer hours are eligible to vote.
Q: Where do I submit my volunteer hours?
A: Please email all volunteer hours for logging to volunteers@mnfurs.org. If you don’t know your exact number of volunteer hours logged, your best educated guess is acceptable. Any volunteer hours officially logged at Furry Migration or Midwinter Frolic are already logged. You may email volunteers@mnfurs.org or elections@mnfurs.org to verify your current hour ledger (count).
