Hi all! Spring is in the air (looks outside to check). Yep, still spring!
With spring comes outdoor festivities. Parades, shorts, and short-shorts! The largest gathering of short-shorts falls on June 28th and 29th during the 2014 Twin Cities Gay Pride Festival.
We’re looking for someone to help represent MNFurs and Furry Migration at the Geek Partnership Society (GPS) Booth. GPS promotes and nurtures geek groups all over Minnesota. They do this by having the state’s largest geek community center located in Minneapolis. More info can be found at http://geekpartnership.org/
We’ve been invited to help at their booth. This not only promotes GPS, but also raises awareness of our group in the broader community. Therefore, we need someone to lead or co-lead our presence at the GPS Pride Booth.
Responsibilities Include:
- Communicating with GPS on staffing needs.
- Delivering flyers and other publications to the event.
- Talking about GPS, MNFurs, Furry Migration and other geek groups to passerby as well to other volunteers.
- Having tons of fun!
- Watching the Crowd!
Date: Saturday June 28th – Sunday June 29th
Time: Sat: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Location: GPS Booth at the Pride Festival, Loring Park (1382 Willow Street Minneapolis, MN 55403)
Cost: Admission to the Festival is FREE. There are vendors for food and other items available.
Fursuit Friendly?: No; ears and tails permitted but please leave full and partial fursuits at home.
