June 3-5, at the old Ramada by the MoA that our first year of Furry Migration was at.
I hope I’m not the only one going! I went last year with a few friends and we had an absolute blast.
It’s a whole weekend of all things video games. Retro, modern, arcade cabinets, pinball machines, wares for sale, indie devs showcasing their work, tournaments, speedrunners, Oculus Rift demo stations, you name it! They even had tabletop gaming and a live band playing vg music!
I’ve talked to some of the staff for the con, and because of the good behavior of my friends and I last year they’re happy to be fursuit friendly. As long as everything is SFW and we mind our manners, they are welcoming furries to con with open arms! Though it probably wouldn’t hurt to throw some cosplay into the mix as well, just to keep things relevant.
So who’s with me? 😀
Me and Cyn are going but we were requested to bring card, board and RPG’s since they knew they had a heavy video game bias. So we will be going but by modern standards are not considered “real gamers”. Guess that works since we are not “real furries” either 🙂 .I would go if I can find a rideHmmm. Might have to check this out.I actually registered a few months back!Since the announcement last week that the old Thunderbird hotel was getting bulldozed, I was worried that they’d have to find a new home elsewhere, but it looks like they’re just moving to the Doubletree down the road. Say, isn’t that the same hotel we had an event in once long ago?Quoted from their Facebook page:

SAME DATES – NEW LOCATION – MORE ENTERTAINMENT
After a long journey through Hyrule, The Mushroom Kingdom, and Azeroth we have located our new castle! We are excited to announce that 2D Con 2016 is now taking place at the Doubletree Bloomington!
This has been quite the adventure, and we are looking forward to inviting you to our new home.
Hotel reservations will be available in the next few days. The rate is the same ($109), but the rooms are much larger (and poolside while they last!).
When the reservation link goes live, you will have until May 13th to guarantee a room.
If you miss the deadline we can not guarantee that the hotel will have any rooms available.
Since we are still going 24 hours you aren’t going to want to miss a thing!
Those who book their rooms on or before May 13th will receive a special Con Survival Pack as a gift from all of us at This is Geek!!
Be on the look out early next week for the next major announcement with the Hotel Link!
If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it’s the same hotel as Anime Detour and Convergence? Unless there’s another Doubletree in Bloomington that I forgot about. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it’s the same hotel as Anime Detour and Convergence? It’s the double tree that Anime Detour/Convergence uses.
I’m surprised that got that hotel. It’s great to see the “show will go on”

Kurst "YipYap" HyperyoteHopefully I’ll have this weekend off! I’ll be at this hotel for Detour in a few weeks and I’ve been many times before, it’s pretty niceAndrew -Â https://atomik.smugmug.com/
Two weeks to con! Woo woo! Hype!I can’t decide if I should bring any of my gadgets to show off at con, my portable retro systems or something. Maybe I’ll just go hide among the 8-bit computers till my posse shows up.

It’s great news the con is still going. Hopefully the Ramada near MSP (Thunderbird) closing won’t allow them to make a great con!Member of Minnesota Furs a 501c3 Non Profit, former Convention Chairman for Furry Migration, volunteer, and always doings lots of other stuff.
