Zepaw, I will give you a ride if you have a place for me to stay the night.  I prolly won’t be up until evening as I must have birthday dinner with my parents, however.  I would say 8pm or so.

Here are my thoughts on the Machine Shed…

Location-wise the drive was very easy and it’s right off 494 once you get in 94 heading east.  There was plenty of parking spaces and it was not overflowing with vehicles either…Not to mention it appeared that it was hooked on to a hotel?

The reserved room we had was huge and definitely a room to reserve for future usage.  It has a nice variety of tables/chairs and big booths and the waitresses we had were very nice and accommodating.

There was a nice variety of food from burgers, to sandwiches, to fish, etc…

I did not stay there for very long, but attendance was nice and I heard that later more showed up.

Overall, I would like to see this place get used again in the future.  This brings up another topic that can be discussed more in a separate thread soon perhaps…

I brought up this idea to a couple of the board members last week…

I think it would be very nice and accommodating for us if we found venues in the north/east/south/west parts of the metro.  This can be either within the 494/694 loop or just slightly outside of it.  With this we can alternate between a venue…Perkins in Minnetonka will still be sanctioned, but why not alternate if we find venues that are successful all around?  I believe that this will help the other community members who normally cannot make Perkins feel more noticed or accommodated.  This way those who cannot make it can say ‘hey, I can go to this meet’ and be very excited.

As Drake said, I would so adore some meetups or events north of the cities!  I haven’t been able to make it to anything due to not having long distance transport.  I take the bus and I could get most places, but living in Anoka, getting back home is the real issue.

I wish I had a suggestion or location to offer with my complaint, but I dont know of anything iin my immediate area aside from the -so I’ve been warned- very sketchy roller rink.
