So, anyone have any good books to recommend? I’m running out of ideas and want to hear from you!If this wasn’t previously suggested, how about Richard Adam’s Watership Down? It is a classic read I’m sure that many people have at least heard of if not read. Another book I recommend is “A Dog’s Purpose” by W. Bruce Cameron. It is a touching novel about the perspective of a single dog who finds himself being reborn until he finally finds out his one, true purpose in life.
I believe that wonder is the insight to discovering more of the world than we can ever imagine possible.
Those are both great ideas! I’ve thought about Watership Down but worry it might be something many have read, but it’d be good regardless.Granted I’m new to here and don’t know what’s been read, but my $0.02:I’m personally fond of the His Dark Materials trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass) by Philip Pullman and believe me when I say the movie did not do the first book justice. This is one of a very few stories that had me in tears at parts. And talking animal spirits.
I also like the Julie’s Wolves series by Jean Craignead George. Julie of the Wolves is arguably the book that set me on my furry ways, and Julie’s Wolf Pack (book 3) is written almost entirely from the point of view of the wolves which I quite enjoyed. There is technically a 4th book called Nutik the Wolf Pup but this is very much a young reader book and generally doesn’t add to the overall story (or so I’m led to believe; haven’t read that one).
