I’ve seen this floating around a few MNfurs’ social network pages, but no one seems to have posted it here yet. Hmmmm.
So as some of you have heard, there’s a new retro gaming bar headed to Uptown (fittingly enough, called “Up Down”) that will be opening in a few months time. It’s a bar that doubles as an oldschool arcade with cabinets and everything. You buy tokens (much like Dave & Busters or Big Thrill Factory) that you can use to play the machines, and each machine only requires one token to play, rather than a fistful of quarters.

The idea seems always good. I personally try to hit the Pinball Hall of Fame when I go to Vegas so for me this is up my alley.

Oh man, I went to see that when I went to Vegas last month and I absolutely loved it! I also loved seeing the little alley of extremely oldschool arcade cabinets, most of them I’d never seen in person in my life before. So awesome!
Looks like a really cool place, and it’s not too far away so I’ll definitely hit it up to check out the games once it opens. I’m not a drinker myself but I’m definitely a big fan of arcade games and pizza, so it could be a lot of fun. Fingers crossed that they’ll have Centipede or Millipede so I can put the skills I’ve learned on my multicade to use on an arcade cab in the wild! ^_^"If it makes you happy and it doesn't hurt anyone, then it's good." - Bob Ross

Hey, this place was in Iowa too! The one over there had tons of rare arcade gems like the VS Series Super Mario Bros, Castlevania and Gradius games, Playchoice 10 with Goonies, a DK Junior cabinet, and others. Unsure if it’s being moved from Iowa, but if it is, then hopefully you folks will find a lot of fun gems to play. The machines at the Iowa one used to belong to a retro game store near a Pokemon TCG league I’d visit on a rare occasion, although sadly when the place closed the machines were moved to the Up Down bar that was 21+ only, so I have to wait three more years to visit the place unless they change their rules, and with it in MN now it seems it’s even less likely for me when I do become that age.But yeah, I do know the one from my home state had a good amount of very rare Arcade gems, so hopefully the MN one will have the same.

I SO want to go to the pinball hall of fame. I tried last year but wasn’t able to, on the new bar I LOVE the idea
