Hey there, your Events fox here again with another discussion thread.  A member of the community approached me with a movie idea to setup as a private viewing much like we did with Suitopia (Zootopia private showing hosted by Suit Up Saturday & MNFurs).  The movie mentioned is called Sing and I am not sure when that movie hits theaters, but it’s an idea.

I want to ask you, the community, what you think are possible future movie ideas to try and setup another private showing that can hopefully be fursuit-friendly?  Feel free to share any and all of your ideas!  🙂

Current release date is December 21, 2016. It’s been pushed back a few times.

Well the idea I’ve been discussing is a Marvel Marathon, showing the movies (what I’d call the Marvel Golden Era) in chronological order.  After some discussion it sounds like the best venue for this might be through GPS, although I’m told they’re unlikely to be able to procure licenses for the most recent movies.

You are also hitting a unique opportunity here in next few weeks in month of June.  The Hopkins Theater (just south of meet) is a 1960’s style “dollar theater” and does full theater rentals and will likely be getting copy of Zootopia June 3rd.

As Proc posted above, I am going to see if I can arrange another fursuit-friendly showing of Zootopia at this theater…I hope to have more details about these developments soon!

You should ask Vulan about the theater at the MN Zoo! When we went to see Zootopia, he said they were actually really happy to have us and encouraged us to contact them about other movies. It could be a cool venue to utilize.

I have already and hopefully in the future we can use them as a venue, but this time around it did not work out.
