Hello everyone, my name is Cameron, also go by Niche. I’m a cross fox (not a fox crossed with something 😛 A cross fox is a partially-melanistic color phase of the red fox, named for the dark stripe down the back and across the shoulders making a cross.)
I’m originally from southeast Wisconsin, up in St. Paul for an internship at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. I’ll only be in Minnesota for a few months before I head to vet school in Madison. I’ve been a furry for 6 years, but until now I’ve never met any other furries in person. I’m really interested in getting to know the community and the awesome, interesting people in it. Maybe even attend my first convention ^.^
I’ve been to 2 furmeets and a little fursuit romp in the park, and I’m getting more comfortable and coming out of my shell a little. I’m pretty shy, but I’m making some acquaintances and friends. Within the fandom, I’m into transformation art, it adds a lot of variety! I don’t have to always be a fox, I get to experience all the awesome characteristics that biology has to offer, and not just the animals. Though bats, hyenas, skunks, and porcupines are some of my favorites. I’m really interested in getting a fursuit or making my own (though I don’t even know how to sew ^.^b). It seems like a tooooon of fun, so hopefully someday down the road you’ll have another fox running around. I am an artist, not too great but I think I have something to offer if I take my time. I like pencil and digital, but I know a little about jewelry making and I really good at stained glass.
Other passions include biology, I have a B.S. degree from UW Platteville, and could yap your ears off, regardless of how large they are. I also love all natural sciences, and could probably answer most questions about physics, chemistry, biology, and random useless trivia. I enjoy playing video games, especially Nintendo, and I’ve pushed my laptop to its (subpar) limits on League of Legends and Minecraft. Philosophy fascinates me, and I would love to have a deep conversation about the nature of reality at every opportunity.
That’s about it about me, anything else you’ll just have to ask! I’m obviously enjoying the group as I’m trying to convince my twin brother to find the furry group back home. I can’t wait to get more involved and spend more time ‘in the fur’. *wags tail*
