Hey community!
My name is Mike but you can call me Akela (A-Key-La)!
I have always been curious of what the fandom is all about and never really knew how to approach it but then I noticed that a friend of mine posted on facebook that he went to NordicFuzzCon and had a blast. I started talking to him and decided then and there to stop fighting my curiosity and embrace my feelings. I have only just now told my wife about the fandom and was met with a mostly positive reaction (I say mostly because at first she thought I was into the fursuit sex stigma that most people I’ve talked to have. That was cleared up quickly) I find myself as kind of handy so I will be attempting my own creation of a fursuit hopefully in time for next year’s Furnal Equinox in Toronto. Yes I live in Canada so a shout out to all my Northern friends (please dont hate) however I live less than an hour away from Minnesota so if you want to know what I would list as a “hometown” in MN I’d say Duluth. If anyone has any tips or suggestions I would love to know a little more about others experiences when they first got started and I am really interested in people’s first Con experience. (I will make a separate post for experience and Cons).
A little bit about what I feel my fursona to be like:
-First off I am definitely a wolf, no questions about it
-I am a strong confidant leader that isn’t afraid of a challenge
-I live in a harsh environment but it at times can also can be beautiful
-I have just discovered how I look and my Origin Story will be posted in another thread
I love how welcoming this community is! No other group I have ever experienced has been so welcoming and inviting.
Well enough of my rambling for my first big post, looking forward to being involved in the community and cant wait to hear from everyone!
