Not sure if a group for this has been created, but I have been hiking almost all my life on various degrees of trails and since I know that there are a ton of parks and trails around the twin cities metro area, I thought it would be cool if we could have a monthly event open to those of varying degrees of experience to walk the many parks and trails within the metro.
I know, “Winter is coming”, (not like that), but this is the perfect time to talk and mention different places to go. Trust me, with the amount of places our Spring and fall picnics have taken place at there are at least 3 times as many MNFurs has yet to explore.
Oh, and lastly fursuits and in some instances tails are not the best to wear during these excursions. Some places will be dirt covered, muddy, and impossible to traverse while wearing a fursuit head. I know it sucks, but picnics are usually the best places to take pictures of fursuiters in natural settings.
So what do say, care to take that first step on a journey of possibilities?
Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Till your good is better, and your better is the best.
Poetry is power.
People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people. Some of the better memories that I have were from all the hiking and exploring I did years ago. But sadly these days if I do to long or heavy (read caring a load) and my aging knees and hip joint start to hurt. But then again, no pain no gain. Meaning I would not get to enjoy the company of good people, and see wonderful sites.
But lets’ start out on the easy side please, and work things up slowly. Perhaps even have a theme for pictures or a picnic along the way?
You can get some ideas from the other hiking groups. I was a member of two of them, we mostly did the local parks. Some good ones are the Nine Mile trail in Bloomington, Pike Island, Lebanon Hills in Eagan(longer, more advanced hike). We also hiked Summit Avenue in the winter, got to visit the Governor’s mansion. Murphy Hanrehan, one in Richfield as well, but generally we had them spread out. We also had longer excursions, to Jay Cooke state park, and the Porcupine Mountains in the UP.I like hiking. :>I would enjoy a good hike, even in winter.Engineer by day, artist by night.
Likewise. I don’t mind the cold or snow. ^_^I would definitely be interested in that. Drop me a line if some hiking gets going.count me in. Just nobody wear crappy footwear. It sucks having to rig someone’s shoe 4 hours into a 8 hours hike using first aid bandages and rope after it falls apart.SergalJerk! Eve Online's Premier Furry PvP Corporation!
I would be up to some hiking. I’m usually off Thursday/Fridays if anyone needs a partner.- This reply was modified 6 years, 7 months ago by SubeeFur.
