– HELLO EVERYONE –
Hey there, it’s me again…After Twitter conversations and some quick research of my own, I want to start up a discussion about a fursuit romp at Loring Park. Like my last romp at Mill Ruins, I want to do one on the last day of AniMinneapolis (May 10) and see if I can bring in a big crowd like last time. 🙂
This is a park that has never been looked at yet and I want to try this place for fun reasons like the Garden of the Seasons, Sculpture Garden, & because it’s centralized. Below are links to the park for those who are interested…

Parking was the most interesting thing to try and figure out. Thanks to some conversations on Twitter, I was able to put something together for this discussion. Below is a screenshot on parking ramps…

The circled area to the right is the Vineland Place Parking Ramp which is next to the Hyatt (Furry Migration hotel). The one circled near the top is the ramp that Loring Park says they own and is for people wanting to go to their park (name is unknown to me as of now). I need to figure out pricing for each ramp, but the one Loring Park seems to be closer. However, the Vineland Ramp is enticing too because it’s next to the FM hotel. Options options…
So hey, it’s question time…
Does this sound like a fun park to romp around in?

It sounds like it – I don’t think parking for a one afternoon event should be a problem. I would just try to double check to make sure that the park isn’t booked that weekend also. But I always love going to the sculpture garden.

I am tentatively visiting this park on Saturday as I want to scope things out and see how much their parking ramp is off Laurel Ave.~ Drake M.

– UPDATE –Yesterday I did a trial run of this park and Norm, Lailadie, & Rebel Pup were in suit. This park is spacious with many routes to take as we romp around. It’s too early for much of the greenery to show up so the Garden of the Seasons was rather dry. We also visited the Sculpture Garden and that was a lot of fun for all of us. This area will be a key area for photographers.
We were a huge hit for many families and other observers as many wanted photos. For the photos I took, for those interested, please visit my FA page as well as my Flickr gallery.
One of the biggest challenges was parking…After driving around, street parking was very hit+miss. We ended up parking on the 9th level of the Hyatt Convention Center ramp. The walk to and from was not bad as it was about 5-6 minutes once out of the ramp. I am tempted to have this ramp be the meeting spot for the official romp, but I also understand if people may want to find their own means of parking…The ramp is a little pricey I’ll admit. One ramp I did not check out because it slipped my mind was the ramp off Laurel Ave and that one looks legitimate…
I am very much open to parking suggestions if someone finds something more ideal. 🙂
Now for the big update…This is definitely going to be an official romp next month. I am still planning on May 10 (Sunday) as I want to piggy back off AniMinneapolis like I did with my last romp as it was on the last day of AD.
Official thread coming soon so stay tuned! 🙂

– UPDATE –After doing some checking around, there is nothing major going on at the park on the date I want to have the romp. Sometime towards the end of this week or start of next week, I will be posting an official thread.
Stay tuned!
