Some of you furs might know me as that crazy bird that sits in the back of Perkins every meet and plays Magic, occasionally hosting drafts and in general having a blast, so I was wondering if there would be any interest in putting together a fun casual Magic tournament for Migration? Depending on the amount of people that are participating, it might be best to do one Standard format tournament and one Modern/casual format for newer players or people that don’t feel like spending the dough to keep up with Standard.
This is just a brainstorming thread for now, so please throw out any ideas for format or times!
In solitary moments magpies will perch on a branch and mutter soft soliloquies of whines and squeals and chatterings, oblivious to what goes on around them. It is one of those things, I suppose, intelligence now and then does, must in fact now and then do, must think, must play, must imagine, must talk to itself. What, finally, intelligence could be for: finding your way back.
I might be interested! Especially if older rules/decks are allowed, I am an old game fart after all 😉Older rules I’m not sure about (no playing for ante), but older decks should be just fine.In solitary moments magpies will perch on a branch and mutter soft soliloquies of whines and squeals and chatterings, oblivious to what goes on around them. We shall have to see then!I think it would be fun. I only play Legacy and EDH (commander) modes. But to be honest, a simple carefree fun game of Magic would be fun.Yup, I figured with the variety and spread of people’s cards and decks, it wouldn’t be very fair to only allow one format. In solitary moments magpies will perch on a branch and mutter soft soliloquies of whines and squeals and chatterings, oblivious to what goes on around them. I don’t have any constructed decks any more (gave my cards away when my love for the hobby waned). But I’d totally throw down $10-15 on a draft some-time, especially with people I know!I only have old cards from a couple years ago. I can’t afford to keep up with the “tournament legal” decks. I’d love to just get with a group and play sometime. Would prefer it to be when the dealer’s room is closed Friday or Saturday night at the con.I dont really care for playing magic at a con because I have way too much other stuff going on but I could bring my casual deck and my almost finished standard deck that might not be started soon anymore….SpidyTheWolfy
I think we can do a sealed deck or a chaos draft. It would require people bringing in their own booster packs, but it would create some constructed decks that are almost left to the luck of the field.I’ll be there if it is a little later in the day as support for the Magpie, just post what date it will be- This reply was modified 7 years, 7 months ago by Sauce.
Electronic Music - EDM, Industrial, Synth
Nocturnal - You will rarely see me during the day, I work nights
Demi-Sexual - Fun first, flirt later
Foodie - Food Adventures constantly, not a fan of fish thoughAlso guys, if we’re making this into a tournament of whatever format, I’m willing to put up a foil Eidolon of the Great Revel as a possible prize. 🙂 -
