The following message is from your friendly neighborhood tiger, Kellic!
Unfortunately he's unable to post to this forum so I'm posting for him.
Hi folks. Kellic here. I have temporarily taken the job of volunteers lead for MNFurs. With the understanding that this is a temp position only. To that end
MNFurs is looking for an individual who is community driven, outgoing, and approachable willing to lead the volunteers division associated with the community group. This person’s responsibilities include:
-Recruiting new and talented individuals both within the fur community, and outside for a variety of positions.
-Reach out to anyone who approaches MNFurs for assistance organizing an event, and determine if they need assistance with volunteers.
-Work with the MNFurs convention leadership to determine their volunteer needs.
-To help identity talent capable of taking a more proactive roll in the group.
This roll is part of the community group and as such would require the lead to attend at least one community meeting per month. If you have any further questions please feel free to post them here and we can answer then to the best of our abilities Keep in mind that the volunteer hours done would go towards your 20 hours required to be a voting member of MNFurs. So not only are you helping with building a foundation for this organization, but also gaining the hours needed to have a say in the future of this group. Its a twofer!
That's quite a big job to take on. It may take its own mailing list for coordination, keeping accurate records for who has what volunteer hours put in… not to mention also taking care of the needs of the upcoming convention. A lot of time spent shooting emails back and forth as well. Sure on the surface it may not seem like a lot of work, but this is going to be a fairly big job.Its definitely going to take the right person.
Furry Migration Staff & MNFurs Board Member.
Posts on the MNFurs forums are of my own opinion and do not reflect that of MNFurs or chartered events unless otherwise stated.

I may be interested in leading the volunteer thing. As I have discussed with Kellic I want this position. Ever since becoming a permanent MPLS resident again this fall I have been wanting a way to both be more involved with and contribute directly to the MN Furs. I have time, experience, and motivation to dedicate to the group.I have had various positions leading, supervising, and/or facilitating groups (most while at UofM). The most relevant for Volunteer Lead is my time as the National Communications Coordinator (NCC) for Housing & Residential Life. Among other duties, I recruited and guided a dozen+ students to attend and participate in regional and national conferences. I reached out to members of our dormitory boards as well as various housing-related groups on campus. I encouraged them to create their own presentations/events at the con to be an even greater representation of our school to those present. I held the position a year and a half and was reelected to the position for another year but had to withdraw upon leaving school early.
I get great joy from getting to know people. This would be a wonderful opportunity for me to integrate myself more fully with the members of our group while bringing more of them in to be involved members past casual attendance. This position is not only something I can do but something I greatly want.

What about me…ive already emailed aerak like 3 days ago.
We probably won’t pick a lead for this division until near the Community Group meeting next month. This month we’'ve got MFF and then straight on into Thanksgiving.I can help out, however I live 2.5 hours away and I am not sure if I could be a lead.Remember the key to these positions is to delegate tasks.
