I will be moving to Baxter, MN on 19 December 2015 after living four years in Kansas City, MO and have no idea what to do from up there or what the best way to get to the Twin Cities is.

well welcome, i just moved up here fea months ago from AZ . thare is quite alot of fur activity up hereWell looks like you can pretty much take 371 right to 694 (becomes 10 then University) and that’s the North end of “The Loop” so you can get pretty much anywhere in the Cities from there. That being said, it looks like a bit of a drive. 4 and a half hours one way from Baxter to the meet location.

Hello and welcome to the grupeThere is furry activity in Baxter? I did not know this.I knew that other furries were likely, but actual meets?

I knew that other furries were likely, but actual meets? There may be some other group members up there, but the regular meets are in the Twin Cities metro about 2 hours south. Even so, it’s not too terribly far, especially if you can find a place to stay for the weekend!
Brainerd/Baxter does have quite a bit to do for the size city it is. There’s a international speedway to the north of town, indoor water park (though nothing like Schlitterbahn) there is Paul Bunyan Land (but most of the bigger rides were sold and torn down due to cost of operation). Both cities have breweries and other unique food opportunities. Also Brainerd/Baxter has a lot for outdoor activities and is one of the big tourist draws as such have many outfitters and guides for activities including fishing, mushing and snowmobiling.About the only other big tourist draws for the state outside of the Twin Cities is Duluth, Ely, the North Shore, Alexandria, Grand Rapids and Bemidji
