Hey everyone! I’m Seán (“Sean” is okay if you don’t feel like typing out the special character), and I’m new both MNFurs and the fandom as a whole. Although one could argue I’ve had a passive interest it since I was a kid (insert “Pokemon Mystery Dungeon made me a furry” joke here). I found out about MNFurs by Googling “Minnesota Furries” and finding this site and the Discord server – and I also have a few friends who I knew were already part of the scene here.
I’ve already been to a few events already (a mall walk a few weeks back, and the holiday party earlier this month), and hoping to attend more in 2024; if anyone tried the garlic naan at the holiday party, that was me who brought it! Seems like it was pretty well received, so I’ll have to bake it again for future large meetups. I don’t have any fursuit accessories or components yet, and realistically won’t be able to afford the time and money for them until later this year, or even 2025 (but I’m okay with that).
My sona is a wolf, and is more or less a complete 1-to-1 of me in real life. I just finished commissioning a reference sheet for him, so here he is: https://ibb.co/N3rQcc7 (I waited to make this post until the ref was done). Sunglasses are my main accessory (which are almost always worn on the forehead).
As for things about me, I currently work as a mechanical engineer who designs HVAC and plumbing systems. For primary hobbies, I’m mainly a musician (my sona reflects this) who does a lot of covers of video game music on YouTube; for anyone who wants to check out my stuff, you can do so here: https://youtube.com/@Sean081799. My favorite game series (and by extension – their soundtracks) are Pokemon [Mystery Dungeon], Xenoblade Chronicles, and Octopath Traveler. My primary instruments are piano and percussion, but I’ve been branching out into learning guitar, bass, and saxophone on and off. I primarily specialize in jazz/funk/fusion, but I’m willing to work with almost any genre if I think of an idea for it. I’m also willing to collaborate with almost anyone, so if you play an instrument or sing, please reach out to me! I feel like it would be really fun to organize a performance(s) at cons and stuff eventually.
Alongside that, I’m also a fan of DnD, cooking, and competitive Smash Ultimate (Zero Suit main here) – but I’ve mostly been inactive post-COVID. Anyways, thanks for being here, and I’m hoping to meet more people in 2024!

Welcome! I’m also a musician who knows baritone and learning trumpet. I also like pmd and the Xenoblade series. It’s great to have you around!

Awesome! I don’t know a whole lot of baritone/euph players, so that’s pretty cool.

    (not very good though :P)

it’s nice to know people still go on these forums
