Hey all! Ridayah has been doing some little club gatherings and I thought I’d help by running one myself. I know we have a lot of Photographers within our group (Made clear by how many cameras we had at the picnic lunch last week)
So I’d like to start doing a regular thing for us photographers. Taking people to different Photo ops, maybe playing with some Studio gear and lighting, and possibly doing a panel night if I have people interested in the future.
I’m going to start it off simple, at a free Venue with a lot of photo ops that Furries are close to home to, because real animals :). I’m talking of course about the Como Zoo!
I am planning on doing these gatherings on Sundays during the day since we don’t do much as a group on Sunday, most people have it off, and Photography is something that often needs good mid-day sunlight to really work well.
When: Sunday, May 3rd 11am – 4pm (I know its short Notice but we have a lot going on Mid-May)
Location: Como Zoo – Address and Map link will be in the Main page post
Where to Meet: Meet me in the Main lobby of the visitors center at 11am. We’ll wait around for awhile getting gear ready and waiting for others before venturing into the Zoo.Hope to see you guys there!

Sounds goodI’ll be there!
This sounds like a lot of fun! I’d love to attend, but I’m a bit nervous because this would be my first group meet. Is there anything I should know prior to attendance?Keskron- Nope! Just meet us inside the lobby building at around 11. Normally I’d say just look for the group of people with camera gear wearing Animal T-Shirts and that would be enough… but at a Zoo that’s actually quite common of a thing.I’m a pretty big guy so I’m easy to spot. I’ll be wearing a large brown aussie style hat unless its really windy in which case I’ll have to revert to wearing a ballcap which makes me not quite as easy to pick out. Regardless there will be a small group of us there. Look for the group of Nerds without any kids with them I guess should suffice? The lobby of the main building isn’t that large.

Yarrick – Thank you very much for the reassurance! I’ll admit, I’m not a photographer, but I plan to bring my notebook; I’m a writer and I tend to gain a lot of inspiration from the beauties of nature. Plus, I can never say no to a chance to go to the zoo!My first meet too… I’ll wear an owl T-shirt and a headband!!! *fret fret fret*Anyone looking for us, I’m in a blaze orange shirt; you can’t miss meThanks to all who showed up today, and hope you had a good time in spite of how busy the Zoo was. 🙂 Again I plan on doing more of these (will be different things) on a regular basis.-- MNFurs Photography Head--
