Let’s do something to celebrate Halloween! The initial thought is a romp, since:
– it’s relatively easy to organize
– it’s fursuit-friendly
– it’s freePlus, ending in the early evening will lead nicely into delicious food-times (also TBD).
Alternate (practical) suggestions are welcome, otherwise here are some location options:
– Mill Ruins Park / Stone Arch Bridge (downtown MPLS) – we were here back in March and it went fairly well, plus there should be plenty of bystanders about regardless of weather.
– Lake Harriet / Lake Calhoun Parks (uptown MPLS) – Fenris suggested this area as an option. My one concern would be parking, but it could be a great location!
– Minnehaha Park (south MPLS) – another beautiful area in Minneapolis. Parking again could prove to be an issue, but may not be as challenging in cooler weather.
– Harriet Island Regional Park (west St Paul but not West St Paul
) – awesome suggestion from Yarrick!Your input is appreciated! I’ll continue to update the post as things develop. This falls on the weekend after Halloween, away from the ZooBoo events.
The thing with Blackhawk park is unless you are using the pavilion there is no public bathroom access to use. (Found this out the hard way) as the building is locked.I’m also going to suggest Harriet Island Regional Park (NOT to be confused with Harriet Lake) in St Paul. Seeing as how most of your options are in Minneapolis may be good to try something on the East side but still keeping it Central. Its another very busy public park that is sure to get a good amount of attention (Taste of Minnesota used to be here…)-- MNFurs Photography Head--

Harriet Island does have a public bathroom building which is kept open most of the year. Its also too bad they closed down the restaurant that was on a docked paddle boat. That would have made for awesome photo ops.

If this is the first weekend of November, I cannot attend as I will be at the bottom of Minnesota hunting.I hope everyone has fun!

Harriet Island is in St Paul… not West St Paul (which yes is an actual city… confusing I know)-- MNFurs Photography Head--

Good catch – updated.
Whelp, I’m a sucker for anything Halloween-y, so I’ll volunteer as a handler. So with other halloween stuff going on and a possible scheduling issue for that weekend, I think it’s probably best to can this before it gets too much steam. Sorry! -
