Hi everyone. =)
I’m the resident Hawaiian Spinner dolphin, Nauta. I’ve been in the fandom since 1996 and the local furry scene since 2000. I started going to the furmeets when they were six or seven people large and held at Campus Pizza near the U of MN campus on Sunday evenings. A few folks still with the group remember those, but we’re not many. I found the meets originally through IRC and local furs SJ Wolf and NorthWolf, who don’t attend them anymore.
I’ve been to 24 conventions on two continents, including FC, MFF, MFM, AC and one in Australia called FurDU. I started the Caribou Coffee/Applebees tradition back in 2007 because I got sick of Perkins after 5 or so years of going there. I always have a camera on me, so a lot of photos of mine get shared – they’re usually not the special event ones though and just of us furs schmucking about randomly. =)
Speaking of photos, here’s one from the May 7, 2000 furmeet. I was 19. To my right is Emi and to my left is Seg. Neither of them come to the Twin Cities meets anymore but they are about in other circles. I still have the Philips Velo 1 I’m holding.
Nice to meet all you kids. 😉
Oh hi Nauta! 🙂~ Drake M.
