I’m still catching up on my sleep, but I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who came to Werecamp and made it such a great event. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time now and I’m thrilled that it worked out so well!
Thanks to Cyn and Flip for all of their hard work in the kitchen and all of their help getting the event ready. Also, thanks to Jaemin for running the werewolf game. I’ve been reading all of the lore for a long time, but this was the first time I’ve actually played the game and I had fun. So many of the people who attended helped out in some capacity this weekend!
At some point here I will be sending an email to those who attended to get feedback for the event, so keep an eye out for that. If you haven’t gotten any of the previous emails, message me so I can verify your email address.
Thanks again everyone!
I also want to add a big shout thank you to everyone who showed up. Big events like this are a risk and most furs play it cautious and say “I’ll wait and see if it works out.” But obviously if everyone did this nothing would ever get off the ground. Thank you to the 29 people who “gave it a chance” and are a major reason why Minnesota Furs will likely have an ongoing winter event. We look forward to your feedback and any photos you willing to share.I’m so glad we decided to jump on it. It was such an amazing time! Seriously looking forward to going next yearI want to give many thanks. For everyone that came, thank you for taking part in the experiment. We have long heard the whispers for a winter event in the land of MinneSNOWta. Weather conditions that could cancel events always was a concern, but now camping… in a state park!? You came and found cabins with heat. You saw an amazing park that was mostly off of the cellular network. You conquered the elements of melting snow turning to ice as the temperature dropped. Now, help us in the next stages of the event – tell your friends, share your pictures and video, watch for opportunities to give us feedback – you are the founding attendees for Werecamp and everything you do helps to shape it’s future.
Thank you to the Minnesota Furs Board of Directors for taking the chance on Werecamp. We thought it could work, but would it? We needed 26 attendees at $80 a piece. We instead had 28 with more than half paying $100 or more. Then, before we actually had the event, you already gave us support to line up for year two.
Thank you Flip for all your help. Leaving work to shop for food, getting an hour’s nap in the car and still staying up until seven or eight on Friday. Your support then and for the rest of the weekend was greatly needed and appreciated.
Thank you Cyber. You willed Werecamp into existence. A new event like this is hard to get started. But now that the ball is rolling, the future is bright with the potentials for growth and continued success. Your thoughtfulness and planning paid off. It was great to be a part of this event, and I hope will continue to have me going into the future.

Kurst "YipYap" HyperyoteAlthough I was only able to attend until saturday evening, due to those horribly unfortunate events involving me. I had a ton of fun while I was there and I’m happy to say that my four friends (two of which are really new to the community) ensure that they had lots of fun. Thank you for being so accommodating to my dietary needs, I can’t wait to be able to participate in an event like this in the future. This was one of my first MNFur events, and while I was only there for Saturday, the time I had was an absolute blast!!Huge props and thanks to everyone who made the event happen. Definitely interested in taking part again next year, and hoping to get more involved in the meantime 😀
I’m really grateful people came to participate in the roleplay/LARP that I held. I know it was really informal but I hope participants enjoyed it. I will continue to work on pacing with the story and teaching game mechanics for those unfamilliar. I look forward to possibly bringing the on the spot adventures another year.It was so much fun! I can’t wait to go back next year! Also to heck with the person who brought Strike Witches! I need to get that Anime!!It was good to get out and meet new people. Also if anyone got pictures of Maxwell, my pine marten character, I would love to see them. This was the first time bringing him to a furry event.I don’t have any pictures of you because I was also in suit but you were ADORABLEMy photos are available here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kehmet/albums/72157691674850251There are a few shots of the marten
