Now not gonna say who this person is but im going to relay a message on that persons behalf about what happened at the Jan 2nd meet.
This person has a service dog and at caribou was recieving alot of harrassment.. Not by Caribou but the furs there. They were asked things like “Is that a real service dog” and were demanded by furs to see proof of it being one among other things.
This treatment of disabled individuals and thier service animals needs to stop IMMEDIATELY. Not only is it extremely rude but it may even be illegal as harrassment and violation of service animal laws.
Things you MAY NOT ASK include:
- Documentation of the service animal / indentification
- What the person disibility is.
- Them to leave the premises due to that service animal.
If you go to caribou or perkins and witness harrassment of a person due to a service animal please report it to the board so they can discipline those furs
Thats horrible, why would anyone be that rude!Electronic Music - EDM, Industrial, Synth
Nocturnal - You will rarely see me during the day, I work nights
Demi-Sexual - Fun first, flirt later
Foodie - Food Adventures constantly, not a fan of fish thoughComing from a customer service background, yeah that’s a very touchy subject. If someone is creating a nuisance then it is up to the establishment management to handle the situation. At best, as guests, our responsibility would be to bring any issues to the attention of management. Let them handle any legal threats.I work at a mobile phone store, I hear people threatening lawsuits at least once a month. Not something I’d wish any of us to have to deal with personally.

- Mark Twaini seen this person too, its horrble thing to do! I would like to chat with this personFYI, The ADA FAQ on service animals:http://www.ada.gov/archive/qasrvc.htm
Which does conflict some what with the OP comments. However, the simple summary is as a customer you really have no right to ask for paperwork. The business may ask for the paperwork, but they can’t use the lack of documentation (in most states) as an excuse not to not allow the animal to accompany the individual.
My only comment on the subject is there was some concerns among some at Perkins (non-employees) that it wasn’t a service animal due to the age and the inappropriate amount of contact others were having with it while “on duty.”
However, I can’t speak anymore on this subject as it’s the business’s decision if the animal is causing disruption and not mine.
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/pets-posing-as-service-dogs-make-life-tough-for-people-who-really-need-animals-help/ I know I should probably keep my nose out of this since it seems to have been settled but this does bring up a few things that were noticed at this last meet with the “Service Animal”.yes this has been settled! -
