In the month of February, one of our spam filters had nine false positives for forums posts. This means that real people were having their posts flagged as spam when it wasn’t the case. As a result, the web team decided to disable the faulting spam filter and let the other spam filters handle the posts. Recently, two phishing bots made posts into the forums which were quickly removed. Because of these two bots, the aggressive spam filter that has been acting up has been reactivated. We will be continuing to monitor the forums, and the site for any spam activity and moving forum posts out of spam if they get accidentally flagged.

Good luck with getting the dials set properly. The community as a whole appreciates all of the work of the web team.
I second that. Thank you for all of your hard work so far. I’d rather have to report a few posts being flagged as spam than have this place overrun by bots.Engineer by day, artist by night.
We have been using a very layered approach on the site for anti-spam. I was hoping that reducing a few would help make sure ham is not marked as spam. But it looked like it started to let a few more spams through :(. Just keep Jac and the web team notified if you see some spam or you have messages that didn’t post 🙂Member of Minnesota Furs a 501c3 Non Profit, former Convention Chairman for Furry Migration, volunteer, and always doings lots of other stuff.
Feel free to ask questions because I'm here for you!
