So, no snow this weekend, should be easy driving for all! However, it will be VERY cold so make sure you bring extra layers and extra bedding! If you are unsure of packing list, please refer to website for what to bring, this IS cabin camping in winter after all: https://www.midwinterfrolic.org/what-to-bring/Driving instructions: Yes there is no snow, but we HIGHLY suggest sticking to the main roads as google maps loves sending people down backroads and in these icy valleys that can be dangerous. We suggest approaching park from Interstate from south as such:If you are still unclear of exact turn offs to welcome center to get permit or gravel road to group center, please visit the MidWinterFrolic twitter or Facebook post dated in late October for exact locations and instructions:So, don’t forget to pack warm, your proof of Covid prevention, mask, and Fun and meet you all in 2 days!I have not gone camping in, yeesh, 40 years! I have the equipment, and clothing. But not sure if doing a winter camp out is a great way of getting back into the ‘fun’.This is not actually camping in tents. This is taking over the camper-cabins at the state park. Each cabin has heat and power. There is a heated bath facility (typical MN State Park bath house, pretty nice TBH), and the main lodge which has the kitchen and congregating area. You do not have to sleep outside in the cold at this event. -
