Good morning,
Over the past weeks we have been doing some updates on the infrastructure and on website. In general if you are having problems clear your cache and then try again. If you are still having problems feel free to use the contact us form.
Because of the updates in chat any settings/away status/block list was also “deleted” with the updates unfortunately. If you want to block/hide/etc a person hit the gear and click away. To turn it off hit “offline“mode.
Also because of these changes on mobile application you WILL have to log out and log back in. There was no way around it 🙁
If you don’t have it already and are interested in getting the web chat on your phone you can read how here MNFurs Chat on Android/iOS.
Again sorry for the disruptions.

Kurst "YipYap" HyperyoteDo you do the development on the app? I know a couple of us have been noticing it’s real data hungry. We’re talking a gig or more in just a few days."The problem is not that there are too many idiots in the world, the problem is the distribution of lightning."
- Mark TwainThere seems to be a pretty nasty problem on the Android side of things – it will send messages but not receive in chatrooms on devices running Android Marshmallow running the native application. We are looking into it and worse case we will roll back this version.Member of Minnesota Furs a 501c3 Non Profit, former Convention Chairman for Furry Migration, volunteer, and always doings lots of other stuff.

I personally do not otherwise I would have it fixed by now, I can send a bug request. I have a feeling that they added some bugs that are effecting it on Marshmellow and probably the data and the current issue are related. It doesn’t do much data on the iOS side of things and on my Shield Tablet running 5.xx.

Kurst "YipYap" HyperyoteI can confirm that receive bug is also present in Android N (running dev preview on my Pixel C)."The problem is not that there are too many idiots in the world, the problem is the distribution of lightning."

Oooh haven’t done N yet. But on N did you have problems before with receiving. Also if you have data usage give me a screenshot with the amount the app used and I can get that to the right people.

Kurst "YipYap" Hyperyotehttps://www.mnfurs.org/members/hikyuuri/ had the best info for that, I actually removed the app from my tablet and phone because it was being so buggy (and people were talking to me thinking I was able to see chat).I actually didn’t install it until after I did the N preview upgrade but same issues on that as in Marshmallow.

On kitkat it’s eating up a lot less data.

Kurst "YipYap" HyperyoteI’ve made a hybrid build of new and some old. It’s now working with Android M/N for sending and receiving messages. I’ve also change a throttle variable so might feel slower at times when you are not activating using it. Will be doing more detail looks on the android M/N over the next few days.Member of Minnesota Furs a 501c3 Non Profit, former Convention Chairman for Furry Migration, volunteer, and always doings lots of other stuff.
