    Hey fluffs!

I thought it might be interesting, and possibly tear inducing, for all of us fursuiters to talk about the most memorable moment you’ve had while fursuiting.

Reply below and tell us yours!

I think for me one of my most memorable moments suiting was the second time I did it, which was to my classes on Halloween XD  Because I was new to the concept of suiting, I had a very exaggerated notion of how much water I needed to be drinking to stay properly hydrated, so I decided to bring my Camelpak with me.  My first class was fun, and I stayed comfortably hydrated, but I didn’t realize I had already finished about a third of what was in my Camelpak.  By my second class, I was well hydrated, and a lot of that water had worked its way through my system.  Thankfully, I had a break after that class, so I could desuit and take care of what had to be taken care of, but after that, I’ve always remembered that moment and have tried not to get back into that kind of situation again. ^^’

My own most memorable moment was about nine years ago while I was fursuiting with some friends at Como Park. There was a little girl and her parents, and the little girl was excited and running around and accidentally tripped on my foot, scraping her knee up on the side walk. The girl started to cry and I was terrified. So I knelt down on my knee and pantomimed crying, trying to convey who sad my character was. The girl instantly stopped crying and walked over to me. She put her hand under my fursuits muzzle and raised it up, and then she said, “Don’t worry, I’m okay”.

At that point I just lost it – I’m glad I had a fursuit on because tears were running down my face. Since then I’ve had many memorable moments in fursuit, but that one has stuck with me throughout the years.

Ever since I got my fursuit a few years ago, I had gained quite a few memorable moments while performing in it. There is one moment in particular that will probably stand out in my mind the most:

Last year at ZooBoo, while interacting with the children and their parents, a small child actually handed me a couple of potato chips. At first, I didn’t know what he was doing; this was when I knew that as a performer, I ought to put my improv skills to the test. Though I couldn’t verbally say thanks to him, I pretended to eat them up, hide the chips in my handpaw and rub my stomach with joy as if to say, “Mmm-mmm, that was good!”

From that experience, it got me to reflect upon the use of improvisation and simply going with the flow while in suit. More memorable moments while fursuiting might come to me in the near future, but so far, this is the best one for me yet.

As rarely as I actually log into this site anymore, I figured I’d throw one out from barely over a month ago.  I’ve been suiting for 9+ years now and this was one of the more memorable things by far for me.   At Megaplex, in Florida, in early August it was hot as hell… I could barely stand suiting down there, but I braved the heat on the Saturday of the con for the fursuit mingle (replaced their first parade) and figured I’d at least hang out with some folks.  During this time, the con’s vice chair approached me and asked if I’d come up to the front after they were done with the group photo.

So I made my way up to the front and learned there was a kid there from Make-A-Wish.  He was terminally ill and one of his last requests was to go to Seaworld, which happened to be where Megaplex was taking place this year (Doubletree Seaworld Resort, to be precise.)  He happened to hear there was a furry convention in town and wanted to meet furs as well. So there he was, his mother taking photos of about 15 or so of us that were asked to come to the front to meet this kid.  Honestly, it was a great thing to make it onto someone’s final requests in life. The kid’s mom said she’d not seen him smile that much in a long time. It left me feeling great again about suiting, despite the heat and all down in that region of the country.

I’ve had many good memories while suiting, but this may be one of the most unique ones by far and I wont soon forget how happy this kid was to see us all there.

Oh, wow! Innouva, your story made me start tearing up, too!

I think my most memorable moment so far while fursuiting was last Halloween. My husband and I went to a friend’s house for a costume party, and everyone at the party had already seen me in my suit except for one of our friend’s husbands. Now, this guy works for the local police department–big, tough guy. I’d never in my wildest dreams ever consider taking him on in a fight!

I go to put on my suit for a group photo, and he just couldn’t stop smiling and giggling at my suit!

Now, my friends also have a lot of dogs at their house, so later on friend’s husband has picked up a squeaky toy and is idly squeaking it while we’re all playing CAH. I, staying in character,  turn my head to look in the direction of the squeak each time he does it, and it just gets him every time!

    Have fun, stay awesome!

That is, ultimately, what it is (and should be) about. Being an entertainer and making people smile.  I know some suiters do things for themselves, to feel in-character and get attention. And I guess that’s fine. But I don’t think the self-satisfaction is nearly as strong as bringing a smile to a person’s face, no matter how big or small they are.  The event I described above was a fantastic chance to make someone happy who may not have had a lot to be happy about. I take some solace in this.   As for your incident, I’m glad the guy liked it. 🙂 Have known a few officers who you’d never want to challenge, yet they have a heart of gold and great sense of humor. Glad you played along and kept him smiling during that party.

I recently experienced something while fursuiting that I feel is really noteworthy to mention.

This took place while I was volunteering at ZooBoo earlier this year. Alongside giving the children low-fives, high-fives, hugs and having pictures taken with them (as well as being asked questions I couldn’t verbally answer, like why I wasn’t at Santa’s workshop and if I was Rudolph), I had a little girl come up to me and say, “I love you, don’t worry,” before hugging me. At that moment, I presumed she meant that because of how innocent my character looked, she wouldn’t want to harm me and instead respect me for what I am, so that really warmed my heart.  It just goes to show that fursuiting is more than a matter of self-expression; it’s a way of connecting with others around you and leaving some kind of impact on them, no matter how big or how small. 🙂

My most memorable moment was at the Feb. ’16 bowling meet. It’s more of an unfortunate story than what you guys have told.

I was in my previous partial, Luminesse- that red dragon with all the flashing lights? Yeah, that’s me. That year I was abso-flippin’-lutely determined to do this thing despite the fact that I was going through a hardcore medication withdrawal. I was specifically waiting for Xida, who showed up a couple hours after the event had started. They ran up to me, gave me a hug and I collapsed from dizziness and exhaustion right there on the floor.

    It was pretty horrible.

    Equality, not superiority
