It’s almost that time of year again! Como Zoo is gearing up for their annual ZooBoo event, and so are we! Volunteering for ZooBoo is a great opportunity for MNFurs to contribute to the community and have fun doing it! If you’re not familiar, ZooBoo offers a way for younger children to experience Halloween by providing a safe and less scary alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. All proceeds benefit the Como Zoo and Conservatory.
We will announce the dates in October and times as soon as Como Zoo lets us know (plan on arriving by 4 pm and staying until 9 pm).
We are handling registration for Como ZooBoo and if you want to join sign up at MNFurs Volunteer Signup For ZooBoo 2016 the signup page. Both fursuiters and handlers will be needed! This is a very fursuit friendly event, but everyone is invited to help and join us in helping out this year’s event. If you’re planning to attend or have any questions, don’t hesitate to let us know.
As a minor change from prior years, we are also looking tentatively for other assistance than just suiters and handlers. Additionally, we will be capping attendance at 25 attendees per night this year. We will let you know of any additional changes as more information becomes available.

I’m hoping that I can volunteer for this, and I should be if it happens on Halo-ween.[UPDATE]
I can’t make it back in time for this.

I can volunteer as a suiter!!I would definitely like to help be a part of this. Let me plan ahead with my schedule and I’ll definitely be there as a handler. The floofiest Dutchie there ever was
We will be having the actual sign up form just as soon as we get a bit more information from them – but we do know the weekends are Oct 22-23, and Oct 29-30 this year!Rina and I are planning on helping with both Saturdays, we’re waiting for the form to be posted so we can get in on this.
For new suiters for this event, your suit will be checked by Como Zoo staff to make sure its child friendly, since our audience will mostly be preschool aged. The other thing is that it can be physically demanding, especially in the legs, for fursuiters, you’ll standing and crouching for hugs and pictures with the children. If you skipped leg day, you’ll feel it. But its worth it in the end. If you like making smiles and creating a sense of wonder, its really worth it.I don’t mind doing it again for a couple daysElectronic Music - EDM, Industrial, Synth
