We are excited to announce Werecamp, a new MNFurs event that will be taking place January 26th – 29th in 2018. This is a winter retreat style event and will be held at the group center in Whitewater State Park, 30 minutes east of Rochester, MN. We are restricting attendance to those who are at least 18 years old.
As a winter retreat, we will be staying in bunkhouse cabins for the weekend and meals will be provided. There will be plenty of different things to do. You might just enjoy a weekend socializing inside where the cozy fireplace is located, or maybe you will brave the snowy outdoors seeking adventure. All things that a werewolf might do as, in case you didn’t guess from the name, the theme for this event is werewolves. (Other were-creatures are available.)
Many of the specifics for this event are still being planned, and we encourage anyone interested to stop by our station at the MNFurs Spring Mythic Picnic to learn more about this event. We will be collecting suggestions for things people would like to see at this event and there will be a sign-up for people interested in helping run the event. We will also be making something at the picnic that will come back to haunt all Werecamp attendees, so be sure to stop by and lend a hand to find out what that is.
We will make a more detailed announcement when registration opens which will tell you everything you need to know about the event. You may also talk to Cybergarou about this event at any of the outdoor activity events he is organizing.

This dose look like a grate time, what would the prices be like for this, and would there be a cap on how many people could come, also, being a crafty maker person, would I be able to bring my skies/snow shews I have been working on, as well as the props I have for my suit? This dose look like a grate time, what would the prices be like for this, and would there be a cap on how many people could come, also, being a crafty maker person, would I be able to bring my skies/snow shews I have been working on, as well as the props I have for my suit?
The cost for the weekend starts at $80 and we are capped at 130 people staying the whole weekend. We can allow 20 additional people during the day only, single day passes will go for $25.
Bringing skies and snowshoes is encouraged for people who have them. In fact, I will be running some workshops to help people build some cheap snowshoes sometime this summer. Otherwise, snowshoes can be rented at the park. We are of course hoping to have snow on the ground.
Props are going to be allowed, the rules about what kinds of props are going to be allowed and where they can be used will be posted at a later date.
EEEEEEE, I’m gonna jump in on this ASAP!Damn. I was gonna say I could make it since it’s only 51 minutes from me, but then I read the age thing and it says “at least 18” Oh well. I’ll just wait till after my 18th birthday. But for those who are going, y’all have fun ^-^Don't touch me unless given permission...please.
Hmm, my interest is piqued."The problem is not that there are too many idiots in the world, the problem is the distribution of lightning."
- Mark TwainAAAAAY! I’m down to part-aaay! Is there a reservation list of some type for lodging? Do we just get in touch with Cybergarou if we wanna hook up a spot plus payment upfront? Here's pointin' at you, kid.
We’ll post a link when registration opens. You shouldn’t have to wait too long, we just have a couple more things to get into place first.Super interested in this. A fun weekend in the midst of winter would really help stave off the winter blues. Is there any update on this? I heard a few things and saw the posters but can’t find any registration details yet."The problem is not that there are too many idiots in the world, the problem is the distribution of lightning."

There’s a proper announcement on the way, but you can find registration at werecamp.regfox.com/registration.
I work with Sprint and I can confirm there is no Sprint voice coverage for that address (roaming or otherwise). …. oddly enough it shows full LTE coverage. That must be a mistake though, the nearest tower is almost 8 miles away and isn’t one of the LTE+ towers that can actually do that kind of range.-
