AT&T is the only cell provider close enough to the park to reach into the valley, and I wouldn’t guarantee coverage by them even. I get reception for Verizon at the top of the bluffs, but nothing down below.

There is WiFi at the visitor center and we have a phone that can be used if you bring a calling card. But yeah, don’t expect reliable cell service.

Posting this again since there are two thread on Werecamp, and I hope to give this visibility.

Hey Everyone, I’ve got an event to add to Werecamp!

I participate in a LARP local to Minnesota where we act as modern day Werewolves – and I plan to bring the game to Werecamp as a come-and-go event for those interested in trying out a basic, down to earth LARP. The only experience you need is how to play Rock-Paper-Scissors (and don’t worry, that is easy to learn that too).
It’s my hope to offer people a chance to build their own characters and provide pre-gen sheets as well. I’ll fill the role of Storyteller (or Dungeon Master if you like) and guide players of any experience level.
I’ll be glad to put down more groundwork and details when a proper thread for Werecamp Events is available. This is the teaser for a come-as-you-are event open to all!

For the couple room is it 140 each? Or 140 for the room?

It is $140 per person and 2 register requesting each other for that room.  Means the room is $280. But before we think that is crazy pricey that is private room for 2 plus registration for both plus food for both for entire weekend.  Still comes up cheaper than a convention.

I had planned on using my first week of unemployment (voluntary) to finish up all of the information pages and get registration rolling. Unfortunately, I got hit hard by the flu and I’m still not able to sit up at a computer long enough to do much. I can give you the dates though. March 8-10. I’ll make a proper announcement once I’m well enough.

I know the big addition this year is we are starting much earlier on Friday so people can get checked in and establish themselves and still see park during daylight.   We discovered last year traveling the access road at night is doable but a little difficult if you are unfamiliar with it.   For that reason, we are highly suggesting people arrive or leave before sunset.  Additionally, we are formalizing that staff can arrive late Thursday and leave early Monday but are required to help with set up and clean up respectively.   But hey, if you are wiling to put in about 6-8 hours of work you can get a 4 night stay, food, and entertainment for $100 or less.

Eeeee!!! I just got irrationally excited cause this event is less than an hour away from me! While I might not stay, I’d love to come visit!

We do have a single day registration option for those who don’t want to stay overnight. You can choose between Saturday or Sunday, but Friday is not available for single day registrations. The hours for single day registrations are 8 AM to 10 PM.

I’ve done the math. I haven’t had a real vacation since 2010. Every time I take a week off it’s to volunteer at or staff a convention.

I’m doing this.

What are we thinking about for the prices and will we have to provide a legal ID like a convention? I just turned 18 this year and I’ve been wanting to attend this for years haha. Also are we gonna have to rent the cabins or is that handled by the staff?
