To add on to part of Uni’s post…

 

If you still want to do this as a fun summer event and as a pre-meet thing, I would suggest July 19.  The weekend of July 4 is AC…However, for those not attending AC, this would be a fun alternative.

After July, I would suggest August 2 or August 30.

Does it have to be on a meet weekend?  Of course not, again, up to the event lead.

Norm- have been trying to get ahold of you on Skype. We really need to go over this and I have some ideas…

We generally recommend/require giving us a one month notice for an advertized event… and this has enough interest that I’d like to see it as a sponsored event. Also we have a LOT on our plate for July right now (AC/ Convergence, Alternate Meet and Drake’s Sushi thing).

Early August is bad timing wise too because of a private event that is going to tie up a lot of community members who want to go to this; and the Summer Picnic. I know it looks like we don’t have a lot going on but there will be a string of announcements for stuff in July here soon.

Weekend of August 23rd or 30th we have free…

Norm – Catch me on Skype as soon as its convenient. I know you have a busy weekend.

I have my party shindig on july 26, that’s not a meet weekend, so that should not conflict with this.

– UPDATE –

 

Hello everyone, the interest we have for this event is awesome and this is something that is happening towards the end of August.  The official date will be listed soon as some behind the scenes aspects are still being finalized.

Norm has asked me to assist in running this event with him.  Much more details coming soon of course.

At the August Comm Forum Meeting I will be speaking on this.  I will do some recaps on the information already out there and also work on getting some new information.

This will also be an official event and is going to be advertised in the MNFurs calendar.

Hello again everyone, here are some more updates…

The reservation has been finalized and we have a date and the event submission form for this has been sent off.

You will soon see an official announcement for this on the forums, Twitter, & Facebook…It will also be advertised in the MNFurs calendar.

As a final update, there will be a new official thread created for this event after the announcement is up.  Once it is up, me and Norm will work on recapping some of the information covered.  We will then share all other information on what will be going on within the time frame of the event.  People attending can then ask more detailed questions as well.

On a side note, I will be having the Web dept close this thread once the new one goes up…Reason being is because this one was more for discussion purposes anyways.

Jake, you are still more than welcome to attend…We do need handlers and along with that, you can have fun and partake in the unlimited access to activities within the time frame.

 

In case you are not familiar with the term ‘handler’, I will explain just in case.  A handler follows a suiter around and makes sure they are hydrated and will notify (or signal) when people are coming up.  Why notify when people are coming up?  Sometimes people will pull on tails or yank on other parts of a person’s fursuit and may cause damage.  A handler also takes a suiter to an area not populated by people (in our case, back room we have reserved) to cool off and get hydrated…Most suiters have limits and eventually need to get out of suit and rest.

Feel free to ask questions here and if you attend, ask during the event.  I will be running around in Norm’s fursuit so feel free to find me and we can chat.
